The Wire

Any fans of the wire should check out David Simon's (the creator of the wire) other HBO mini series 'Show me a hero', terrific acting by Oscar Issac about racial tensions in Yonkers, New York.

Looks like I better start with this pile of shite again. It took me three attempts to get to halfway through season two, so it might be a long time until I finish.

If it's any consolation to you, I've never finished Breaking Bad.

I liked TheShield, but it just descended into farce. The lead was just getting up to too much.

Agreed first 4 or 5 series were good but it was a farce in the end, many of the actors appeared in Sons of Anarchy, Kurt Sutter was a writer and producer on the Shield, and the thus 2 shows had a similar feel (although the ending of SOA wasnt great it was nowhere near as bad as the Shield) both shows well worth a watch though.

Got about half way through the second series and thought it was shite and over acted. Seems I'm in the minority.
Halfway through the first series I thought the same as you but it improved and became great. The girl whonplays Greggs does overact though, she was the let down for me but I worked on ignoring it
