there could be a light at the end of the tunnel

They will also know that if we play as awful as we did on Monday it will be a stroll in the Wembley sunshine (assuming it'sa nice day).

I'm struggling to have any ounce of confidence after the shambles of Liverpool. Can only forsee the usual City let down to be honest.

this, monday has devastated my hopes, mancini isnt even the man to rally the troops, hope khaldoon has a word before the game

The two squads are very similar in ability but one is far more settled than the other.

For me the difference comes down to the manager getting the best out of the players, so United win every time.

As its a derby, at Wembley with a place in the FA Cup final on offer t is all about passion, again United win.

One team is coming in off the back of a bad defeat - if that were United how would the team rect to Fergie? They would win. How will the lads react to Mancini? United win again.

Every which way I look at this now it comes out as a United win.

I am not being defeatist its simply that what I see is one fixture almost completely reliant on the manager to give us an edge be that tactically or motivationally. Hence United win.

Sorry ladies and gents but as much as I hate it thats the way I see it.

(please, please, please prove me wrong City)

I maintain that man for man we are better overall.

For that reason alone I have some confidence for Saturday.

More than I have. I'm already shitting it and calling it "my weekend in London" rather than the semi as I expect to get beat and want to soften the blow already.

Out of that list

VAn Der Sar - NO, For crying out loud he's retiring at the end of the season.
Evra - Yes.
Vidic - Yes.
Ferdinand - No, A liability at best over the last 2 years (When fit).
Nani - Yes
Giggs - No, what is he now 140 (lets not get caught up in the media driven god worshipping of the mighty Giggs please)
Fernandez - No, A good first season, but still a lot to prove.
Berbaflop - No, a hugely expensive, flop and we've enough of them already.

Camel gob, prick and all that he is, is an excellent defender. He's been a little dodgy against sheer pace these last couple of years but I'd still have him above Kompany. Kompany is young though and will be more rounded in a few years.

Colin,

This is based on current form ok? VDS has been the best keeper in the league this year. Ferdinand is still a class act unfortunately and Giggs looks a better player now than he did five years ago. As for berbatov being a flop, he's the leagues top scorer.
I hope to Christ we beat them on Saturday but let's not be saying daft things.

I will say that they're not great in the middle of the park. Players like Fletcher, Carrick, Gibson and Park aren't top drawer. If we've a midfield three of Dejong, Toure and Silva we can dominate here. They're also weak at right full, I don't rate John O'Shea, Raphael being out is a big plus to us.

This - and I'm usually an optimist.

Player for player we may be able to match them or even surpass them, but as a team they are light years ahead.

Last night, Chelsea threw everything at them, but not once did I think the Rags were in danger. Even when Chelsea equalised, the Rags went straight up the other end and scored - that is called focus and concentration on the job in hand - no emotion, but pure professionalism - that's what Ferguson (and several years to get right) gives you.

I'm gonna go and wash my keyboard with soap now...

Barry has played left full back for part of his career. If we're not looking at the full back to give us an attacking outlet out wide then he could be a one-off answer.

Lol, lead buttock's versus Nani. Game would be beyond retrieving after 10 minutes.

We more than matched them well enough for 90 minutes at the sty not that long ago.

We are good enough to win on Saturday.

A good full back doesn't necessarily need blistering pace. Needs to be able to read a game well and position themselves properly. I was just putting it out there anyway! Whoever is marking Nani will have it all to do, especially if the diving little bastard gets the full back booked early doors.

I think utd have been playing the last few games with our meeting in mind....chelsea play similar style to us and they have been convincingly beaten twice in the last week...

I have lost all faith in the manager to 'rally the troops' to be honest....the last game has shown me that despite my hope and support, mancini has learnt nothing in 18 months, stubborn, arrogant man....he has split fans opinions and made long time st holders not want to go to games.....I will just try to enjoy the atmos at wembley with fellow blues without harbouring any expectations of success.

edit:

I suggest the light that you see at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train...this is city afterall.

the last home game we completely smashed sunderland 5-0? what more do they fucking want?

Based on what I saw on Monday night and Tuesday night, I can't come to any other conclusion other than a United win.

Depressing as it is I agree.
Fuck me what has happened to everyone. Let me remind you the game is a derby match and results don't always follow the form guide.
The air of negativity amongst some of you is a joke and I suggest you don't bother going on Saturday if you can't muster anything positive to say. Afterall what is the point ?
Yes some of the players are struggling and some just not good enough IMO but with a bit of support anthing is possible.
Believe!!!!!!
