Or in erasing the threat your crackpot dipshit foreign policy exposes everyone else's to. Your country's wealth is and always has been in your corporations. Most of them have already relocated sizable portions of their business abroad, there's nothing intrinsically American about them and very little keeping them there. Not really a very stable economy. Take out the military economy and the entire lot would come crashing down. You make nothing that the rest of the world is reliant upon and your natural resources are nothing to shout about. Services are already a European product. While your country is obsessed with playing world police and ignoring all the shit going on in your own backyard you've already lost your global standing. A country built on finance and manufacturing with no manufacturing sector exporting to speak of and a shrinking finance sector. A country that spouts bollocks about being the land of equality and the free, about being a bastion of democracy with a more deeply embedded caste system than any other first world country, a two party electoral system where the only way to get elected is to gain the support of big business (weighting the strength of your vote by your wallet), a government spying on its citizens and revoking more rights on a daily basis while the populace is so distracted by a debate about health insurance and gun ownership that they can't see what's going on. A country that's so far up its own arse that they prize a culture which sees kids and innocents mass murdered on their own soil on a weekly if not daily basis. From the outside looking in, you've collectively lost sight of what made your country great in the first place since the beginning of the cold war and you don't even know it yet.

i take it back, the Yanks and Confederates should arm to their teeth. It's pretty obvious we the mother country never accepted their sovereignty and that the austerity is all about building up the red coats so we can go and take back the New England states. I am surprised we have taken so long to do it but reasonably speaking it could happen any day. I also know China and Russia both think the US nuclear deterrent is fake and if we don't go in first they will be invading soon enough
 
If I lived in America I'd have a gun because I'd be scared to death of my own government. No one has started more wars directly or indirectly than the current administration and has the bare faced double standards to attack Assad while befriending an equally violent and more extreme state, Saudi Arabia. Turkey shoots down a Russian bomber that spent a maximum of 17 seconds on the Turkish border and the Americans support Turkey. If you are black in many areas of America the police are the enemy. killing black males without provocation or justification or punishment. And to max out the crazyness if you are a farmer you cannot tend to your own land in a manner that has been common practice for decades ie burning invasive plants without being sentenced to 5 years in prison. Be careful not to protest though or you will be labelled a white terrorist.

Read your history: before tyranny can be brought to bear upon a population you have to remove the guns from the population. If you think that this is mad and the government would never do such a thing, take a look at Hitler and how he changed the perception and values of the German people.

Tyranny existed long before guns and will exist way after guns become history. Tyranny goes hand in hand with guns as the more a people believes guns are the answer the more both government and people will rely on violence to drive power and solve problems.

america has been starting wars since 45 all over the world and it has been politically ambivalent. Right wing republican or left wing democrat has made little difference to the American industrial millitary complex. The reality is they need fear at home and war abroad to drive their profits. The NRA do heir bit to drive paranoia and sell weapons and the state department and others do their best to keep war going. It's no coincidence that the gun issue and all these wars only came about when the Cold War ended and the business that made millions wealthy came under threat.
