Who is SIMON?

the jam did a demo a song called simon back in 1979ish never made the final cut from a album maybe setting sons or a b-side

but its great to hear stuff that you never heard before even in demo form its a great track and I don't think many have it in there collection sadly its not on youtube

I got a bollocking for passing it on to somebody who is a bootleg pusher and had to track it back and got it back off him I will say about 7 or 8 have it
and they all know each other very well so am keeping quite

42 years ago this week The Jam topped the Top 40 for the first time, straight at number 1, first since Noddy. I never thought I would ever get that old

My youngest has got into The Jam and when we listen to Setting Sons in my head it just seems like yesterday.

The upsetting thing is so many of the songs from that era are as relevant today as they were then. The Eton Rifles could have been written any time in the last few years.

The best band around at the time of my formative years, explained more to me and my brother than our parents ever did. Lucky to see them 18 times in and around Manchester.

Weller comes across at times as pillock in interviews, but meet him, his band/crew all are sound

I miss those concerts for the excitement, anarchy and bedlam

The only full concert available on youtube
