Fernandinho is our defensive midfielder now with Garcia as backup, I said replace Barry in terms of a body going out and a body coming in and for me it's time to replace Barry with him getting on the wrong side of 30 and only having one year left on his deal.

Yaya, Fernandinho, Rodwell, Thiago and Rodwell and Garcia is a great set of central midfielders with a perfect balance of defense and attack.

We would be insane not to go in for Thiago when his buyout is only €18m.

Times like this I'm gutted we gave Yaya that new contract. If we'd sold him instead and convinced Thiago to be his direct replacement then I think we'd have been a lot better off. (both financially and on the pitch) Hopefully Yaya gets his act together and starts working like he did the year before last, otherwise I will probaby be moaning about this moment for decades ("remember that time we could have bought future Ballon D'Or winner Thiago for only £18m, but instead offerered Yaya a new contract after giving him a year of barely breaking into a jog?" etc etc)

if you are buying isco how the hell will thiago get mins?

Silva, Nasri, Milner. Navas and Isco...How will Thiago fit in? He will be on the bench since i would expect Silva and Isco to be the starters.

Fernandinho is a better player than Thiago full stop. You let him play & stick somebody like Barry behind him to cover, not let someone like Thiago, who is nowhere near as good take his place in centre mid.
