Don't let the rags pull this shit again. They target players with contract situations, Kagawa, Van Persie, Lewandowski. Make the vultures pay full price. If he doesn't force his way into our starting 11, then sell for not much less than the artificially low price we paid. If he turns out to be class, we win. Ship out Barry and Garcia.

Win-win.

Its about us having a balanced team, not signing every fucker because we can.

Watch Thiago play ffs, he doesn't do the job that Barry, or Garcia, or DeJong, or Makelele, or any such players do.

It's like saying sell Zabaletta & sign Thiago. They have nothing in common.

I know what he does, watched him many times. He can play in a midfield 3 with enough protection behind him. Matuidi, for instance would complement him well.

The Barca fans seem to think his best position is as a deeper playmaker.

Thiago is a central midfielder like Wilshire, drops deep and takes the ball up the pitch to the creative options.

He would be perfect to rotate with our more attack minded central midfielders, the lad is a class act and will be a Spain regular very soon.

it's about balance. If the bosses think we can fit Thiago into a system where other players can do the other roles for the team then so be it.

I trust Txiki to buy exactly what we need and I have to trust than Pellegrini will run the plan properly, and therefore we'll be fine whether or not we sign Thiago because if we do get him it'll be for the right reasons.

Thiago plays the Xavi role.

Isco plays the Iniesta role.

Fernandinho plays the Busquets role.

None of them are alike.

Match them with Silva (similar to Iniesta), Nasri (can play the Xavi role), and Toure (similar to Busquets).

Yeah there's room.

Thiago is absolutely nothing like Barry & will not do the same job. If we are going to replace Barry, sign someone better than Barry at that job.

If we are going to fill the team with players who are great on the ball but shite off it, we will get dicked.

Fernandinho is our defensive midfielder now with Garcia as backup, I said replace Barry in terms of a body going out and a body coming in and for me it's time to replace Barry with him getting on the wrong side of 30 and only having one year left on his deal.

Yaya, Fernandinho, Rodwell, Thiago and Rodwell and Garcia is a great set of central midfielders with a perfect balance of defense and attack.

We would be insane not to go in for Thiago when his buyout is only €18m.
if you are buying isco how the hell will thiago get mins?

Silva, Nasri, Milner. Navas and Isco...How will Thiago fit in? He will be on the bench since i would expect Silva and Isco to be the starters.

Sell Nasri and Barry and play Milner at CM backing up a regular starting 3 of Thiago, Fern, Yaya. Rodwell and Garcia being the other two backups. Thiago is already good enough to be in our starting 11. He would get plenty of playing time if we at all know what we are doing.

So you're both selling Nasri and keeping Nasri? ;)

It's genius if we can make it work. Maybe Nasri only plays for us in mid-week fixtures if we do sell him, but as long as the purchasing club is none the wiser then we get a handsome transfer fee and don't have to worry about mundane things, like paying him.

This is just the kind of revolutionary thinking that has long-since been missing around here. FrancoisToure, I salute you.

Great player and would love him at the club. Only issue is we'll have to offload some midfielders to clear room for him and isco.

IF were to sign both we'd have Barry, Garcia, Yaya, Rodwell, Fernandinho, Milner, Nasri, Silva, Navas, Isco and Thiago. Thats 11 players even not including sinclair and razak. Plus pellegrini is going to want to give youth a chance.

If Barry, Garcia and Sinclair leave and Razak goes out on loan, that would ease the situation somewhat. Even then you have 9 players left who would all be looking to start games.
