He is a very good CM, so he could play with Yaya with Fernandinho/Rodwell just behind the two. He can also play further up with Silva/Isco/Nasri in case off injuries. Fairly versatile. I've also seen him play quite deep in midfield, just in front of the defense, sort of a CDM. Obviously, he's not perfect in that role but he can play in it adequately. Wouldn't risk it in Europe though.

I hope you aren't suggesting he is in category 3. Anybody could just pay for his cheap buyout clause. He would be cheaper than phil jones!

Other than last year when we were supposedly in for him I haven't really seen anything which you can say is a reliable source to say we are in for him this year. But if Fenandhino can only be purchased for 40m Euros or something stupid and we could get a younger model at 18m with the same attributes then we should pursue this with all haste, his buy out clause goes up to something like 90m if it hasn't been activated by 31st July. The player is out with the spanish squad for the next three weeks so there will only be a small window of opportunity when that is over to get him signed, unless we do what we did with David Silva.
