Thiago Alcantara

This guy is that good that if he ends up at Old Trafford we might as well not bother; and that's even with Moyes as the Manager.

Hope you enjoy watching him at the swamp then pal!

Put your brains away and zip your fly up.

Thiago has spent his entire career playing the Barca way. Passing triangles etc. If you mention triangles to Moyes the first ting he'll think of is Dairylea cheese. Like Isco he had a good U21 but in a team that was light years ahead of the opposition. He'll be a 21yr old in a new country trying to adapt to a completely different way of playing and even if Moyes decides to change the way they play then the rest of the team will have to adapt. That sounds like a recipe for a less than brilliant season to me. He's a good signing but he's not what we wanted or needed.

What is it with some people, if we sign a player he's over priced and over rated but if the rags or Chelsea or the Arse sign one suddenly they are brilliant and we have missed out big time. I despair I really do.

Thiago has the class to adapt to the rags style of play - whatever that blunder Moyes. What is less certain is that he'll have the time on the ball he enjoyed in the U21 championships. This will be the acid test.

The kid is good, but signing him doesn't make the rags invincible or a certainty for the league like some on here are making out. Obviously we'd all prefer him not to go there, but if we play to our potential, I do not care who the rags have, I'd much prefer our midfield to theirs.

after we lost out on isco we should have been straight on for this lad.

Rubbish

Only reason we were in for Isco was because of his potential. Which he may or may not realise

Thiago is very good, but Utd don't play the Barca quick passing possession game. It's all about getting it wide to the wingers. Which is why kagawa was marginalised last season.

Utd need a midfielder, but the type they need in a Keane / Vieira type who will physically dominate the middle of the park. Thiago would be better than Cleverley but he would have no one to play his one twos with. Not suited to the Utd style at all

I'm baffled as to why we're not in for him. Get the impression that Barca don't wanna deal with Txiki and Ferran because otherwise its a no brainer!

Because we already have Fernandinho, Silva and Nasri.

he's a quality player, and young. He's on a par with those players, but there's no point in buying a player who doesn't give you anything extra.
