Think this whole dance is just to get an improved contract/more playing time from Barca. I know there's talks of a release clause, but if it was that simple, would have been completed already. Barca would be crazy to get rid for the reported fee.
 
Maybe we didnt go for this guy because we have Rodwell. I just really hope rodders can grow out of his injury nightmare. We saw what a beast he can be. If he stays injury free (big if) we have a great young midfielder of our own.

Rod is 10times the player that fraud sir clev and prolly On potential the same like thiago it showed when he played. HE JUST NEEDS TO STAY FIT !

completley agree, rodwell can be one of our best players, i think khaldoon mentioned him as being the spine of the team ??

It's not an injury as such though is it, it's a muscular/Skeletal issue where they don't grow at the rate they should or something along those lines. No fix apparently, it's just what it is & when it hits it hits. Not 100% but I'm convinced that's what I've read somewhere.
 
It will all be done and dusted in the next 3 weeks or so otherwise doesn't the 80m Euro release clause kicks in. And no matter how good he is Rags won't pay that.
 
The only thing that may really hold it up is Barcas willingness to cooperate someone a while back stated the vat and tax liability that the player has will in fact raise the actual buy out clause something like 50 odd %. So although the rag press will put the spin that it has only cost them something like 17m the reality is it will be closer to 26m. Hope they fuck it up I really do, for all the downplaying on here by some he is a genuine quality player, whether Moyes has the nouse to use him properly is another thing.
