I don't get the hate with Gundogan

He's slow, he's weak, he's lazy, has no real strengths other than recycling the ball either sideways or backwards, and yet he's an absolute Pep favourite.

I've got no ties to Thiago, mate. Nor Aaour who was also speculated. They're just both much better than Gundogan, and it seems only a few fans with heavy bias either can't see it or admit to it.

Thiago under Pep was one of the best midfielders in the world. We haven’t seen that player for a while now and I doubt that he will return to his best under Klopp. There are definite similarities with Gundogan. He gives them greater depth and some additional options, but it’s not game changing. He wasn’t what we need.

I mean if Bayern had Gundogan and we'd had Thiago I'm not convinced either team's fortunes would have been any different. And I really rate Thiago.
