Thierry Ambrose

Some french club like Bordeau, St Etienne or Lille are actually following Ambrose

He can go on loan somewhere as long as its not fucking Lille. Terrible team.

Far too good a finisher to spend any serious amount of time on the wing. Do we have any updates about his injury yet?

Finishing is his weakest point imo.
Surprised to read that, he was so clinical for the u18s last year but I've not seen much of him for the EDS this year. Very big talent either way.

He's still better than most at it though. He's not bad at it, but just not great.

Not bad for a player who doesn't play in his position

So far an 'ok' finisher & able to score some absolute blinders. But not a true goal 'sniffer' or someone who can be relied upon not to miss. Indeed had we lost the recent game v Chelsea, it could easily have been said it was down to his less than clinical finishing.

I'm sure he will improve in that area, but the idea of him having a career as more of a wide player than a central striker should not be discounted, because he has the tricks, the pace & the workrate, & he still manages to score goals from that position. Having a player who gets 20 goals from out wide is one hell of a bonus for a team. Possibly the difference that wins extra trophies.

I was going to post something similar.

Goals from out wide are invaluable, you often see people bemoaning our lack of pace, directness and goal threat from our midfield, hence the constant calls for Reus or similar. Ambrose and Barker deserve a shot at providing that for us in the near future imo.

I guess one way to look at it would be to think 'Is it likely that he'd score a goal if he played in 2 or 3 games back to back' and you'd definitely argue yes, whereas you wouldn't for Navas, Silva or Nasri usually - which is a collective flaw of our midfielders, Yaya aside. Same goes for Barker - you'd expect he'd score at least one in 3 games as its just part of their game.

Great finisher? Maybe not, but someone you'd bet to scoring very frequently? Yep.

Big part of the reason why Ambrose and Barker have a huge chance.

Jesus Navas

Club
2003-2013: Espagne Séville FC 395 game (34 goals)
2013- : Angleterre Manchester City 74 game (7 goals)

National Team

2009- : Espagne Espagne 35 game (3 goals)

I'm not quite shore why you think we should be using Ambrose as a winger? He is the most natural striker in the academy, and from what I've seen is one of the players I'd put money on making it with us but has a long way to go yet and the same goes for Barker as the Hamburg game proved although it wasn't an exciting game he didn't step up like everyone expected. Under 18's and 21's are a big step away from the premier league never mind the champions league.
