This could be one of the truest Articles of the season......

Well, realistically there is a big possibility that Hughes will be given until seasons end (although if we continue to regress i will be amazed if the owners dont take action sooner), but my worry is that if he does get till the end and City end up out of the CL spots and even worse out of the Europa spot, where the f*ck can he expect sign any players that will take us to a higher level than those he has signed already.

I like you, thought he signed vey well and was genuinly hopefull that we could poss do a top4 with those players. But if this fails, he has absolutely nowhere else to go when it come to new signings.

So ofr me, lets do sooner rather than later what is becoming increasingly inevitable and get a manger in that can also bring big name players almost regardless of the position we are in the league.

Like Mourinho? Listen to any Italian based journo and you will hear how the Inter fans are pissed off with Mourinho's lacklustre team producing lacklustre performances, something I have heared Hughes and his team be accused of. Changing the manager won't solve anything in my eyes, as he will be given a bunch of players he might not rate, meaning this time next year, (when that manager has had a full summer to assemble his squad), we are int he same position of that squad taking time to gel, and people moaning and groaning and calling for Mourinho's head, or whoever it may be. There has to be some stability9 and real time given to a manager to be allowed to work, especially when an almost entirely new squad has been assembled.

You know I keep hearing all this about Mourinho and Inter playing rubbish etc etc and as I don't watch Inter or Serie A for that matter I don't really know either way but I do wonder if Inter are so 'boring' how come they scored 33 goals in 14 games which is way more than 2nd placed AC Milan? I mean if Inter are so lacklustre how f**king bad are the other teams?

We have scored 24 in 13 games which is an average of 1.8 against Inter's 2.3. AC Milan have scored 20 goals in 14 games and are second in case you are interested.

They also won the league last year and are ahead at the top again this year. Mourinho plays football that wins and his teams win even while not playing well andhis unbeaten at home record is amazing....Hughes as yet looks to me like he cant motivate the players to play well week in week out, as I said elsewhere cant remember the last time we played really well. Therefore Hughes football is not exactly thrilling but with less wins....and I stress this is so far in his career.

But most, not necessarily yours, views on here are moaning about the football Hughes is producing, and so if people are to accept that football if it means being top of the table under a new manager, is that not slightly hypocritical?

Winning comes first entertainment comes second and atm the teams doing niether of those things.

So surely it was in Hughes' interest to assemble a squad that ticks these boxes then?

Is that not what he's been trying to do? Was I imagining the John Terry/Kaka/Torres stuff?

And those players didnt come....So plan B is required right? I was responding mostly to the part about leadership and our distinct lack of it. Hughes went for Terry and I was gutted he didnt come....but plan B has not quite worked just yet and we are still craving a Terry type player

I respect your opinion mate i really do. Wanting Hughes out like i do gives me no pleasure i promise you and i only think that way as i believe he is simply not good enough to do the job in hand. The poll on the top of the board though paints a very different picture to the one that you suggest. We are not that much of a minority and the fence sitters at this moment in time i would suggest are much closer to our thinking than your's?

Just my opinion and like i said, regardless of the outcome for Hughes, i will certainly not be falling out with other Blue's over it!
Nah if you're an outer you're an outer - inners and I include myself fluctuate between in and fence.
Look - I'm not King Canute - he has clearly got to show us more - I want him to be a success and I want stability for once at the club, I want all the things you do in terms of success and improvement - I just think 13 games with a new squad is a little early to put so much emphasis on wanting him out. I`m not an inner without stipulations - there needs to be a vast improvement in fortunes but I`m not ready to call for his head yet.

This is what I don't understand with some people. I'm not calling for his head but I'm unconvinced by him (as you appear to be) and I am not going to spare him of criticism just because I don't want him out at this very moment. You can say you don't want him fired but slate him as well you know?

What worries me, and many others, is that this kind of article has been predicted by many posters on here (Soulboy and JMA to name but two)over the past few weeks. It tries to dampen our expectations and quite frankly it insults our intelligence at the same time.

Our squad is as good as any of the Top 4 bar Chelsea so Hughes needs to sit down and stop wasting time trying to save his reputation through his sympathisers in the Press and whip them into some sort of shape that gets us winning games again. That's his job after all.

The one certain thing in all this is that Hughes has his own future in his own hands, it's as simple as that, he can either step up to the plate and show us all that we talk bollox or he will go with a whimper, proving us to be correct.

Over to you Mr Hughes.....

That's fair enough & if he can't produce the goods in the long run we'll have to get someone who can. At the moment we could do with getting behind the team & making the opposition & ref intimidated by us rather than intimidating our own players & letting the opposing fans scare the ref into giving them a pen on our ground.

I dont like the style of Hughes football because (and again i say so far) it is not winning us games. I see your point mate and some fans are never happy, but I think the point most people are getting at is that if we were playing really well but just letting a few goals slip it wouldnt be as bad. But we are playing rubbish and so there are very few positives to take

Good article - but wasted on here - easier to reason with the Taliban
well said lad, some people on here will never be satisfied with what hughes does, how ever many trophys he wins he will still be a rag, the ages of some of these "fans" I should imagine is rather young as their inexperience in following your team through thick and thin does not seem an option, they want success and they want it now or toys out of the pram.

I always stop reading when someone puts "fans" in inverted commas. It's one of the biggest insults going (see also: "so called fans").

Absolute bollocks, the dishonest approach doesn't lend any credibility to your argument believe me.
