This guy determined we will fail FFPR

I can neither confirm or deny that accusation.

I do however think that he's a lying **** who is personally profiting from telling a bunch of well meaning football fans a pack of lies about a complex issue that very few understand for the sake of his own pocket, and has been invited to spew his bollocks on numerous respected national platforms due a combination of this and bas researchers.

Just get a gun mate and seek him out.

City’s revenues rose by just under £40m and it appears as though they will scrape through UEFA’s Financial Fair Play test. Official financial figures for 2012/13 are yet to be released, but that increase should be enough to meet the requirements and avoid the threat of a Champions League ban.

Questions over matchday income were aired after figures showed it has doubled in one year – from around £20m to £39.6m.

Ed Thompson, the FFP commentator and analyst, said: ‘It could be that they have taken out a mortgage against one year’s advance match day income. It is certainly a baffling figure.’

The Deloitte report said: ‘The overall revenue increase is driven largely by a growth in commercial revenue as the club expand into new markets and seek to develop its brand internationally. The agreement with Etihad Airways is the centre piece of the club’s commercial success.’

What a load of crap.

The answer to the "Question over matchday income" is quite simple. In our accounts, we show revenue from matchday hospitality as commercial income whereas Deloitte (and most other clubs) show it as matchday income for comparison purposes.

We suffer in comparison because we only have 2,000 hospitality seats out of a 48,000 capacity. The rags have 8,000 out of a 75,000 capacity and these supposedly generate 60% of their matchday revenue (and good luck to the team trying to flog those at the Swamp next season). The expansion will create a load of cheap seats but virtually all Level 2 in the Colin Bell and possibly East Stand will be premium offerings. These seats could add another £15m to our revenue in total.

And even if we had taken out a mortgage against future season ticket income (which is highly doubtful to put it mildly) it still wouldn't show as income in the P&L account. It would show as cash and debt in the balance sheet.

I feel like I should point out that this is PB's way of saying that it is a shit covered bag retrieved from an ocean of shit, which scientists have found is produced by an undersea volcano of shit, and contains nothing but raw and putrid shit inside.

A true number one blue would never ask that question.

I couldn't possibly comment!

I forgot to add that if he's that we borrowed the money (against 2013/14 ticket sales) and showed it as 2012/13 year's ticket revenue then he realy is talking shit covered bags etc. You only show ticket revenue in the period you earn it via the games it relates to.

So for season tickets, in monthly accounts, we only show the proportion that has accrued for that month. So if we had 3 home league games in January, we'd show 3/19th's of our total s/t income for that month. If we allowed people to pay 3 years up front, we'd only show a third of that in each of the three years.

Must admit that FFPR never actually enters my mind. Our owners employ people who are way,way too bright to get caught out.

in laymans terms, taking out a loan isn't the same as getting a raise.

Quite right. If my company gives me a season ticket loan of £5,000, that doesn't mean my income has gone up £5,000.

Did anyone else hear Conn on talksh*t about half hour ago regurgitating the same innuendos " - huge rise in revenues , where did that come from - interested to see because most of City's sponsors come from Abu Dhabi "
He could not have made it clearer what he meant.

Conn is a man who knows a great deal about football, City and finances yet has decided to dedicate this knowledge towards his ideology.

His ideology is not shared by me and I feel that it often taints his opinion and his objectivism to the point of shaping debates to suit.

lol. didn't hear it, but I'd happily wager he ignored the trend towards a higher proportion of our sponsors not being from Abu Dhabi as well.
