This Incredible Squad

It's incredible what they continue to achieve at the club. Whether we win everything or nothing, their desire to keep challenging on all fronts is just insane. They could have been forgiven for putting their feet up this time, but they've still got that hunger. That's what makes them one of the greatest club sides ever. Through players leaving and new ones arriving the levels don't drop.

The dippers and tarquins might make the odd change in a game and it wins them the match, but they don't utilise their squad or trust them to win them games. We've gone through a tough period with Walker, Ederson, Stones and Ake all with niggles/injuries. We rested De Bruyne and Haaland and beat Villa. We rested Foden and Bernardo and beat Palace. We then drew at Real without De Bruyne, Walker, Ake and Ederson. And we rested Foden, Grealish, Stones, Bernardo and Rodri against Luton.

The squad players are coming in and showing they can do a job. Proving to Pep they can be used at this crucial period and enabling him to make changes.
There were those on here earlier criticising Doku and Gvardiol. They should learn it takes time to bed in. Both outstanding against Luton.

The mentality is incredible. We are still a way off getting all three or any, but when do they rest and take it all in?
Next season, what does a rest look like? 2nd in the PL and CL quarter finals etc? They are in unchartered territory, this team is going where no team has ever gone before!

You can criticise every player out there. They have off days and they make mistakes. But people should know better than to write players off when we've seen how long it can take to adapt to the tactics under Pep.

What I've found so interesting this season, is after pining for a direct and pacey winger and signing Doku we were all buzzing initially and off our seats in anticipation every time he got the ball. Then, suddenly, we were pining for the man we spent £100m on and bemoan for not scoring or assisting enough. He comes in, the balance looks better, he delivers exactly what he needs to even if those stats don't improve. Then he gets a rest whilst Doku comes back in and performs excellently.

Going into this run in it's the perfect scenario. I wouldn't want to be a full back dealing with Grealish for 70 minutes where it's almost impossible to tackle him without fouling him, and then having Doku come on and run me ragged!

As for Gvardiol - whilst he made a mistake against Luton you can see he's going to be one of the greats. Touch and technique are incredible. Vision is brilliant. Strong and quick...just needs to cut out the errors which he will do in time and my god he's going to dominate.

When he gets into his best position (central defence) Gvardiol could become a legend for us. Another very astute signing. Doku will always cause problems for opponents, even coming off the bench. Hopefully Nunez can come good as well
