Why? What do you want? Are you genuinely here for a discussion on football, or a wind-up? A chance to get under the collective skins of Man City supporters? Because whichever way you look at it it won't be long before it decends into open warfare and childish name-calling.
We're rival supporters FFS! And rival supporters on internet forums have always (and will always) be wary of one another: it's called mutual distrust. Open hostility is always bubbling just under the surface.
Meeting face to face and having a few beers is a totally different thing, because then we both recognise a bit of ourselves in one another: a passion for our respective clubs and an understanding that the opposing supporter is not too dissimilar to yourself. But on an internet forum it's a different thing altogether. We can hide behind silly usenames and pretend to be something we're not in order to goad the opposition fans into retaliation. Pointless, yes. It's called 'trolling'.
Just lately we've had a few Everton fans coming on here whose sole intention it seems is to wind us up. And the question I ask is: Why? Is it so mind-numbingly tedious on your own forums that you're forced to go elsewhere in order to bring a bit of fun into your lifestyles? If so, that says more about your apparent state of mind than any practising pyschiatrist could tell us.
I just do not understand your apparent preoccupation with all things Man City at the moment. That's all.
Each to their own, of course. But personally, if all I had to look forward to day in and day out was infiltrating another club's forum and goading their fans for no particular reason, I'd feel something was seriously wrong with my life.
