We are the only country in the British Isles that seems to use the universal national anthem as our own and for me it has to change.

Jerusalem would be my pick, it's far more powerful.

GSTQ is for the whole of Britain and should not be used for anything except when Britain is competing as a whole. I'd have Land of Hope and Glory. The only other country that has a national anthem as dull as ours is Liechtenstein.

This. GSTQ is the UK national anthem. I don't see why we use it for England stuff. My pick would be Jupiter by Gustav Holst, otherwise known as I Vow to Thee My Country.

But let's face it, it's never going to go unless we become a republic.
