This team won't be considered great until...

I think we are already a great team but in the eyes of neutrals we probably won't be considered great until we win back to back titles and a Champions League.

It's all about definitions. If we use the Rags & Liverpool as benchmarks then we will never see a ''Great'' team again. These 2 dominated for 2 decades each. This won't happen again in the modern game.

It's rare that any manager stays at a club for more than 5 years. No time to build continuity & ultimately a dynasty. It took Ferguson 7 years just to build the foundations at the Rags.

get the FA and ref's on his side you mean then greatness is achieved

If we win the CL everyone will agree we’re the best British side of all time. There’d be no disputing it. Come on you blues.

Some people will never call it that while it's still together.

We'll have to wait for a decade before a consensus allow it in that conversation because people are idiots who have rose tinted memories of former sides.

Winning the European Cup back then wasn’t a great achievement. Liverpool and Bayern both got a byes in the first round in years they won it and only played six games before the final. Forest played European giants Öster and Arges Pitesti before the Quarters in 1979-80. All you had to do was win a few rounds. Winning the FA Cup was harder to do.
All you had to do to win the European Cup - star by wining your league, so, much, much more difficult than winning the FA Cup.
Forest in '79, beat the holders Liverpool as well as German champions Cologne, plus AEK Athens and Grasshoppers of Zurich, neither were mugs. Straight knockout, none of this group stage bollocks and only played between champions, no runners-up, 3rd, 4th, 5th place rubbish.
Forest were a great side.
