This weekend Premier League games

Can someone explain to me why neither of these are off-side leading up to Sturridge's sencond goal?

Initial pass to the winger - Sturridge is miles off.

Although technically not 'active' (bullshit rule that).

Then, the pass to Sturridge - ball is played forward and there are NOT 2 opposing players between him and the Newcastle goal line.

Is the second one because the goalscorer is behind the player who passes the ball?

Bingo. As long as neither player is offside when the ball is initially played through, then player cannot be offside if he is level with or behind player A when the ball is passed by player A. That's my understanding of that rule anyway.

QPR has to be the worst team in the league.
Second worst. Reading are below them on GD.

No, I would say they are the worst given what talent they are suppose to have.

And correction: QPR are the worst team that used to be in the league.

Those extra games are taking their toll on Chelsea it seems. Ramires off with an injury.
