I really like the fact that Pardew has given the players a few goals like finishing ahead of West Brom/Newcastle and catching West Ham. Played nicer stuff that last season as well. It's great that players like Jedinak, Murray, Ward and Speroni are showing just how good they are. Murray's form is a especially pleasing because always thought he had the makings of a decent Premiership striker. Was a huge blow for our top scorer to get injured for so long. On a personal front glad he had a chance to play in the Premier League. It has taken him the best part of a year to get back to where he was and that's after his return. Pardew's coaching really improving Zaha's movement off the ball. Hopefully he can keep getting goals.
We did come 11th last year when we had Pulis. I just don't think there is much difference between the bottom 8/9 teams really. The biggest difference is in the management. If Leicester had say Pardew/Pulis I reckon they would be at least 14th. When we had Warnock we were played decently just lacked that bit of experience/formation and were losing/drawing games we should have won like say Villa/West Brom/Sunderland. Yet with Warnock we were going to get relegated. Luck has changed a bit with ref decisions and we are much better set up.Marvin said:Never been a fan of Pardew.supercrystal7 said:Another big win for us. He made a fool of himself at Newcastle at times, but Palace have been really good since he was appointed
Is this a new manager effect or something more significant?
I remember 12 months ago, Poyet replaced Di Canio and they went from dead men to a really dangerous team, nearly beat us in the League Cup, nearly killed us at home in the League and beat Chelsea at Chelsea
