I think people are going a little overboard with the comments about the officials. Yes, it was offside, but those calls where the attacker is coming back from goal and the defence is going the other way are by far the most difficult to spot for linesmen in real time. It's frustrating that they didn't make the right decision, but we see these missed calls all the time in similar circumstances. It happens I guess. Just bad luck rather than "the game is bent" etc

Just watched the replay of that decision; it wasn't that difficult a call. The linesman was perfectly in line, he had the 18 yard line as a guide and it wasn't that close a decision. Mata was half a yard offside.
