Just had an e-mail off my mate who has booked us on the Thomas Cook trip to Madrid and the times are not the best.

Fly from Manchester at 8.40 and land in Madrid about 12.10. Give an hour to get passed passport control and on to the bus and then another hour to get to the center of the city you are looking at 2.15 or so before you get a beer.

Piss poor in my book this.

Yeah , flight out slightly later than i had hoped for , but will be out of the airport in half an hour , no baggage to collect , coach journey half an hour max , so you have just got an extra hour .

Getting picked upat 18.45 for transfer to the game , so i reckon a good 5-6 hours to saviour the atmosphere and have a beer , am sure you can manage a few in that time .

Thanks Biffo, I feel better now :-)

In some ways I am glad the window of opportunity to drink is shorter. I may get to see the game. Last year in Munich my brain missed the first half even though my body was in the stadium ! Looking forward to meet my mate Javier on his home turf.

I get your point, but we should be in Madrid City centre for 1/1.30pm (I've been with TC loads of times and you're straight through P.control & onto a waiting bus), loads of time to have a few beers round Madrid then get picked up at 6.45pm, time for a couple in bars near the ground & then see the blues Play Real Madrid in the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

I for one sir can not wait!!

No I'm a glass half full kinda guy but the glass is chipped and what is in it smells of piss :-)

Never understood this glass half full business - usually means the next one is on the way !
