Thomas cook trip to Madrid

I booked with Thomas Cook for the first time to Madrid, last Friday I got an email telling me I was unsuccessful and my booking had failed as I didn’t have enough loyalty points “I have 7500”. My dilemma starts when I then try to organise my own way there, no flights all the other travel deals sold out but finally sorted something out has follows.
Fly to Alicante on Sunday morning pick up a hire car at the airport drive to Madrid 190 miles 3 nights in Petit Place Alcala Hotel Madrid travel back to Alicante Wed’s 1 night in Hotel in Alicante fly back to the UK Thur’s afternoon. I’m running out of Holidays it’s only the first trip.
A full week to inform me I don’t have enough Points. Never book with TC again!!!!!!!!!.

i know people on the flight with less than that. were you grouped with others who didnt have enough points?

Thomas Cook LS6307 Departs at 07.30 arrives at 11.00. half hour transfer to hotel. Happy days

I share the view of Bigg Bigg Blue on this one. Book TCS all the time for the Euro away's and normally fly around 7:30 and tend to be in the centre of where we are playing before midday. Those who think we will be in the centre within an hour of landed are misguided - you will be lucky if everyone is on the coaches in this time let along in the pub.

Appreciate that there would still be plenty of drinking time but like to take a look around the cities we play in as well as have a drink. You'll have less than 5 hours to do this which is a poor show given the cost of the trip - don't mind paying the money for the day trips as they suit me but do expect to get a decent amount of time where we go.

I for one will never travel with these fookers again...went shalke missed 20 mins.. Today im sat on the fooking runway waiting for our useless freeloading stewards and to add insult to injury we are waiting for the catering...useless cnuts...

Apparently the flight was delayed 90 minutes, my mate texted me around 1.00pm and they were still on the coach from the airport into Madrid. Think of all that drinking time wasted, glad I didnt go this time...(not)

I wouldnt travel TC again, after using them for Shalke away.

Whilst we arrived the afternoon before the game OK, I was alarmed to see the coaches didn't leave Cologne on matchday until 2 hours before kick off. This was a one hour journey.

My mate and I wanted to spend the afternoon before the game drinking in Gelsenkhirken, and also didn't trust that tight timescale, so we got the train accross on the morning of the game and had a great day.

In the ground, all the seats around me were empty even thought he game was sold out. It was only when people started arriving after half an hour of the game that we found out what had happened: their coaches had been delayed by an accident.

Independant travel or Spike for me from now on. Spike understands implicitly that these are just piss ups.

We actually left cologne at 4pm in good time for kick off. The fact that the autobahn had 4 seperate road accidenst didnt help. Then we had to wait at a service area for a police escort didnt help either.
We actually missed the first 10 minutes of the game
