Thomas Partey charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault relating to three women

Innocent unless proven guilty in my eyes.

However, once charged Arsenal should’ve suspended him, as should have the FA and PL and the European football bodies. I’d be very interested to hear their rationale for not doing so.

This is a man accused of raping multiple women FFS.

The media’s role is bizarre as well.

Look at the response when Jenas was alleged to have sent a few naughty texts. Uproar, lost his job and was painted as the second coming of Fred West. Or that time when Aguero innocently tapped that female lineswomen and it was blown up and framed as him being Peter Sutcliffe’s mentor.

Partey, fuck all.

He was only charged this week. After his contract expired.

It’s completely unnecessary. The point is that someone has decided to put a photo with someone in handcuffs up and will have consciously decided not to put a black person in handcuffs in the photo.

Why not simply put a photo up that doesn’t show anyone in handcuffs?

Tbh my first reaction to it was it was pretty odd full stop to have an image and just the word 'Charged' as if they were celebrating a goal. So jarring in fact that the colour of the hands in cuffs didn't occur to me till you mentioned it.

I had a look at the news page this came from and every single news feed article has a banner image with a short phrase and one of a handful of themed stock images. I scrolled down a few and for the arrested and charged news items and there's two handcuff images and one oddly distorted Lady Justice statue that are repeatedly used. It all looks like it's been done as a GCSE html project. You may well be right that the lack of a pair of black hands is a conscious decision but it's also possible you're giving the met too much credit by thinking that amount of thought has gone into it!

Mendy was found not guilty, so maybe a bit soon to condemn the man.

And people think Arsenal controlled when he was charged? Isn't there a conspiracy theory thread somewhere?
Yep.

But it didn't stop the gutter press and the broadcasting media dragging him through the public consciousness at every opportunity.

This is the first time we're hearing about Partey from the media and yet the opposition fans were chanting he's a rapist from the terraces.

I mean come on! Arsenal FC knew about it because every time they had a European game to play Partey would suddenly develop a vague injury that ruled him out of traveling.

That fact that he had to relinquish his passport had nothing to do with it?

I'll tell you what. If he played for MCFC there is no way the media would have kept it under wraps this long. They would have at the very least been commenting on what the fans were chanting about, to nudge it into the public domain.

You can think what you like about conspiracy theories this would have been the perfect opportunity for the hacks to muddy the waters if he played for MCFC.

Arsenal are part of the red cartel and their client journalists will happily steer the narrative.

John Cross the Arsenal fan will be digging deep into finding a way to blame us.

Remember the press pack demanded we sack an alleged rapist then (after he was cleared) said we were a shameful club for not paying him whilst he was remanded in prison. We can never win

This illustrates why I cannot fathom how some people on this forum cannot or will not see there is a media bias against MCFC.

I will admit that I've watched way too much Sly Sports over the years so I'm on the wrong end of the polarity. However, surely anyone with a modicum of common sense and an open mind can see it?

With it all going on, I understand Arsenal should have done more considering the accusations being thrown about.

Was the Everton player charged?
