Those of you who left early

I don't deny that there are those who have valid excuses e.g last train, random emergency etc. But it is those who religiously leave early to get back to a Manchester suburb five minutes earlier, I can't understand.

Believe it or not the players are aware of the stadium and their surroundings. It is disheartening and potentially detrimental to the team's performance to see a half empty ground when we're pushing for a late winner.

My train home (last one I can get) leaves at ten to.

I travel a long way every home game, paid my money knowing I will always miss the final 5 mins or so of a mid-week game, and potentially a moment like that. I'm clearly not a 'fan' for leaving.

Neutral mate came as well. His face is a picture atm.

Still didn't shave ten mins of my journey. In fact I nearly died running for my train (again), and I still annoyed for unavoidable reasons.

To be fair mate I honestly don't think that your plight is under scrunity. It's just that many people find it a bit strange that some fans/supporters leave for no other reason than to get home 20 minutes early. And before people begin to get on my case and try to explain that it's their perogative I agree, it is their perogative, just can not understand leaving early to make up 30 minutes.

I can just imagine some of you who left early in a few years being asked....

"remember when Kun scored that last minute goal against Villareal that kick our season onto that next level"

"er no I was actually chuffed to bits as I left early and shaved 5 mins off my trip home"

Dickheads.

I agree with the op, obviously a few have a fair enough reason but for most it is just a case of missing the traffic.

Jesus Christ, there is a whinging twat on Talk Shite talking like we lost 7-0, Just fuck off.

Amazing scenes when we got that last second winner. Just gutted I had no one next to me to do the Poznan with. Someone correct me if im wrong but was Stevie Ireland's goal against Reading a few years back the last player to score a winner for us in the last minute?

Well worth it after making a trip back from working in Hertfordshire which took me 7 hours after the M1 was shut for 2 hours this afternoon

Stevie Ireland's goal is the last one i remember too and i think that's the point. We very, very rarely score late winning goals so most people think it's worth the risk to leave early. Hopefully we'll score these more regularly in the future and make people rethink this decision

Great attitude towards your fellow Blues - it's up to them isn't it? I make a 320 mile round trip to watch City as a Season Ticket holder and occasionally leave early to take up to 30 minutes off my journey, especially when kids in tow. And you're happy if I miss a goal - dicksplash

Everybody has a choice and if your reason for leaving early blows your hair back then fair enough. However, to gain 30 fucking minutes is, to my mind, an utterly fucking derisory reason/excuse (even factoring kids into the equation) for leaving early.

Seriously, how can a 320 mile round trip be eased by getting home 30 minutes early (due to leaving the match 5 minutes before the end)?

If this is a fishing trip then fair enough, you've caught me but if not...

No fishing trip mate - I understand what you're saying but, like everyone (whether they admit or not) I've got other stuff in my life and being home at 7.30 versus 8pm on a Saturday does make a difference. I can understand people having another view but I didnt appreciate the fact the OP seemed to be relishing other Blues missing out.

I'm with the OP, great post!

Had some southerners more intent on fucking about behind the camera in City Square and interrupting the guys post match analysis than enjoying the result.

Adult children!

Great result, where is Neil Jung with the Mancini gif?

Sorry mate I rather rashly didn't read the majority of thread (reading on my phone). Mainly just the provoking first comment. I've just seen the rest of the comments.

I would give me right arm to be able to live around the corner from City/Manchester. Why would you leave in this cases

Haha unlucky! Most of them wont care that much as many leave early because they don't really give a shit. No matter what the day, the time of kick off, the opposition, the score or the importance of the game thousands leave early for no reason (obviously some do have a reason) [some as early as 74 minutes!].

30-45 minutes extra sleep for a kid is absolutely fuck all. Tomorrow they will just have an earlier night, maybe even a nap after school before tea. Overall it will make no fucking difference to their lives at all. "Kids" is no excuse, at all! If you're an adult and you're happier saving 30-45minutes on your journey home - whether it's 10miles away or 300miles away - that's pathetic. The only real excuse is people with disabilities or if people have work on a night shift. Other than that there's no reason at all worth leaving the game for!
