It'd be the mark of an extremely simple mind to write off any player based on him sharing the same nationality as players from bygone eras that might not have lived up to expectations.

You only need to look at the Brazilian defenders and defensive midfielders over the years to know how stupid this thread is, it's only forwards that you really need to be wary of with their egos.
