question should of been , how has the last 3 years been under the current owners.
many managers could and would of done better i,m sure, just remember the total capitulation by united that allowed city back in it last season, then only just winning by the skin of our teeth,
i,m sure this thread would look completely different had aguero not taken that last second chance !
i dont understand the hero worship when you look at the ,poor signings, dull football and sheer luck he,s had
Rag

i dont he's far off the mark to be fair. he is a lucky manager which is fine by me, we musn't pretend though that other top managers would do any worse, this is some squad of players.

I know Mancini isn't perfect, but when he arrived most pundits were saying it would take at least 5 seasons for City to win the title ... but he did it in his 2nd full season. And threw-in the FA Cup in his 1st full season.

I know we all like to find things to grumble about, but I don't think we can honestly argue that he hasn't delivered.

You can talk about "luck" but that seems to be an essential ingredient of all top teams ... after all, Fergie seems to have a whole lifetime of "luck" every season, doesn't he ? I think Fergie is still well ahead of Bobby on the "luck" stakes.

I thought it was the wrong time to replace Hughes. At the time I felt he should have been given until the end of the season.

However, it proved to be the right decision, as Mancini's (and Hughes') record since has proved.

I can only remember the end of the Mercer / Allison era - we won the League Cup and ECWC in the first season I followed City, so this has been the best period of watching The Citizens I can ever recall.

And what a fantastic time it's been: FA Cup, League title and Community Shield and some of the most exciting, exhilarating football I, or many other City supporters have ever seen.

Whilst I agree we couldn't have done it without our wonderful owner, it needed a top manager to bring out the best in the players we have bought.

For three fantastic years, thank you Roberto Mancini.

OK... I'm in my mid fifties now... So I remember the 'old' good times, as well as the bad times... However the last 3 years have been the best ever for me... yes best ever!

probably because we were so shit... and I mean really shit at times (The 7 draws under Hughes would have been success at one time).. I actually thought I would have died before City won anything again...

So, because of how far we've come, so quickly... The RM tenure has been the best ever for me... and anybody under 50 cannot disagree!

The CL can wait..... RM has delivered for me! Thank you MCFC

I'm the same, mid fifties and agree totally with Levets.

Bobby and what he has achieved has turned 40 years of hope into 3 years of extasy, belief and pride.

Grazie ManCity/ManCini

After all the years of misery we have suffered to see the smirk wiped off all the red faces was fantastic and something I have dreamed off and never thought I would see in my lifetime.

There have been tears of happiness and joy in my house, and hopefully plenty more to come.

Thank you to our owners and Roberto, you made an oldish man very happy

Is you ever been to match at the Etihad ?

was at the spurs home game last month,
been to wembley with city 3 times, saw my first match at maine road in 1971

why is it that anybody that has a different point of view here is a rag, or its ok to question whether they go to the games or not ?

why are city fans so vindictive towards each other here simply because they believe this manager isnt necessarily the best thing since sliced bread, and couldnt of done it without the
massive cash injection from the owners !!

we would have had the success anyway, these players are too good. possibly even better under a different manager, hard to say. he's grown on me though, very unsure about his boring italian football at first and still does at times. the bit i really like about him is his class, he oozes it with the press, other managers and the like. i wish he'd warm to the players better, i think he'd get more out of them.

would i make a change? not in a million years.

Can't see how you can say we would of had succsess anyway?
How much time and money did Hughes have?

who said anything about hughes? he didn't have silva aguero yaya for starters, with THESE players other managers will have won something, perhaps even more. bob has dropped some right bollocks.

Being one of the older brigade it has not surpassed the late sixties early seventies but I have no doubt it will over the next 3 years, we are on the verge of something spectacular, ok we have been manipulated by gill platini and the uefa cronies they won't stop us, this 3 years will only be measured as a stepping stone by the next 6 ?

yeah , mancini should really thanks marwood for the scouting he did signing THESE players instead of some proven premier league players. mancini has been very lucky becouse if it was down to him he could have signed lampard instead of silva , torres instead of aguero and charlie adams instead of yaya
