My mate has just phoned up for his ticket and the lady said just over a 1000 tickets left, so I can't see it going to blue members to be honest.

Don't believe that for a second. There is always scaremongering bullshit put out like this.

There will be more than a thousand single seats left once all the ones together have gone, and that doesn't seem to have happened yet.

My friend just got told 2000 when she phoned up so I think the ticket office just pick a random number.

Sorry mate, I'm sure you're passing info on in good faith. It just seems that usually the call centre people don't have a clue what left, as they only have an allocation to sell, and there are usually lots of Chinese whispers in the 'mate said' thing. He might have been been pressing her, she might only have the north stand of the stadium on her computer, she can see a sea of red dots and says "well there's more than a thousand left'. By the time that's been passed on a time or two it becomes 'there are only a thousand tickets left'.
