Ticket Office,fit for purpose?

I do think there is a trick that is missed out by City that has been pointed out here.

The purchase of Tickets/Resell of Tickets through ATM's.

So you can go to a Link ATM, an option to select: purchase Tickets.
Possibly link up your Supporter number to your bank account beforehand or enter your supp number at the ATM.

And obviously the charge for the ticket is done through your bank account.

I wouldn't use this service as I'm a SC holder but for the many supporters who are bluecard members, they might just be strolling through Manchester on a matchday and have the urge to buy a ticket.

When bored I sometimes take a peak at the ticket site, it never fails to amaze how games are shown as sold out then seats come back on sale. Take the Spurs game, sold out over a week ago now 23 blocks shown red but you can only access 2 plus the usual 15 pages on viagogo.
In my opinion the operation of ticket sales needs a good shake up, no grumble about the staff either on the phone or at the window. Next season the office will have there work cut out dealing with relocations and more seats to shift so I think City need some blue sky thinking. Hole in the wall machines say 12 or so around GT Manchester for citizen card holders, City are going to get more fans wishing to attend games in the future so its vital the TO is indeed "fit for purpose".

Always confusing in regard to the availability of tickets.
Thus does anyone know more or less the following:

1) Of the 48,000 capacity how many season ticket holders there currently are
2) In answering 1) therefore how many matchday tickets are typically potentially available (minus of course those allocated to away support which varies from what 1,500 - 2,500)
3) How many tickets ara made available via Viagogo per game
4) How many are available via other tickets sites i.e. ticketbis.net, footballticketline.com, Lixfootballtickets.com, ticketmaster.co.uk

Surely the club should simplify the sale of match tickets

1) 36500
2) 2800 away fans if sold. 3500 corporate sales leaving around 4600 general sale tickets.
3) no idea.!
4) god knows..!

love how people have a pop at something they know nothing about.

I had to laugh at people worrying about getting Champs League tickets!

That said, I think the ticket dispensing machine is a decent idea providing peoe are happy with more "tourists"!

The ticket office is such a joke that I've given up ages ago.

I would gladly send them my CV and offer to sort it out with a low fee but they'd probably lose that email too.

Hahahaahaha ! This^^^^^^^^^^

As someone who only uses the site to renew my SC and buy cup tickets, I have to say the service has been first class. It is the way tickets are sold to citizen card holders that needs looking at, how can a game such as Spurs be shown as sold out for a week then have 13 sections showing tickets available. The last two cup games have had people getting to their seats near half time due to the delay in picking up tickets from the TO.
Maybe there is a simple explanation I know nothing about, but as a observer it seems there is room for improvement.

The magically appearing tickets are returns from sponsors, corporate, suppoters clubs, commercial etc. It's not a perfect system but all clubs Ticket Office's suffer the same issue, maybe as we continue to grow it will become less of an issue as more and more of the corporate world want to watch.

there is always room for improvment. the club will monitor this site so i'm sure they will look at things. overall they do a bloody good job, must be manic in there at times. i think its the ticket partners that need a kick up the arse imo.

I reckon that for 3) viagogo there are typically 400 - 900 tickets on sale. Thus there are around 3600 tickets on general sale, either via City themselves or at other ticket sites (~ 400 - 800 from other sites 4) ). Thus City themselves have around 3,000 on general sale.

Probably better if all tickets were through City, either the City website (or a website that is separate from the general City site but still owned by the Club and dedicated purely to ticket sales) and the ticket office direct.

Maybe the ground could have a few dedicated pay cash on the gate turnstiles available for use at some games ?
