Ticket Office,fit for purpose?

City's annual report for 2012-13 said we had sold 36,500 season tickets, but the numbers may have gone up since then. I suspect it's around 38,000 now with 7 to 8,000 on the waiting list

Your title is a bit misleading, when your actually issue here is with the ticket website. Its a bit strange when you have a red block but you can't access it, I agree, but I think the website is fine. I sort any tickets out I need well before the game, and any problems I phone them up or get onto the twitter help account.

Hole in the wall machines would be good though I agree, its the 21st century they can't be that hard to install.
Online web-site was a big step forward from queuing outside the ticket office, but with another 15,000 seats being made available we need further innovation.

A remote machine inside the City shop is a no-brainer. Gets people into the shop, and it should be possible to do it now without diverting staff and causing too much disruption.

I remember a lot of people used to buy tickets from the City shop in the Arndale. There always used to be a queue, but it would disrupt the routine of the shop which is probably why Kitbag decided against it, however if it could be made self-service then it could be a win win

I think the OP's problem is with the policy on selling tickets, which is something I've had a pop at in the past. It's ludicrous that a "sell out" has loads of gaps in both tiers of the North Stand. Our pricing is horrible, the use of viagogo is a stain on the club and I still believe City are favouring agencies and travel companies over ordinary fans for attractive London fixtures. But I've never had problems with the ticket office itself.

Always confusing in regard to the availability of tickets.
Thus does anyone know more or less the following:

1) Of the 48,000 capacity how many season ticket holders there currently are
2) In answering 1) therefore how many matchday tickets are typically potentially available (minus of course those allocated to away support which varies from what 1,500 - 2,500)
3) How many tickets ara made available via Viagogo per game
4) How many are available via other tickets sites i.e. ticketbis.net, footballticketline.com, Lixfootballtickets.com, ticketmaster.co.uk

Surely the club should simplify the sale of match tickets

1) 36500
2) 2800 away fans if sold. 3500 corporate sales leaving around 4600 general sale tickets.
3) no idea.!
4) god knows..!

I reckon that for 3) viagogo there are typically 400 - 900 tickets on sale. Thus there are around 3600 tickets on general sale, either via City themselves or at other ticket sites (~ 400 - 800 from other sites 4) ). Thus City themselves have around 3,000 on general sale.

Probably better if all tickets were through City, either the City website (or a website that is separate from the general City site but still owned by the Club and dedicated purely to ticket sales) and the ticket office direct.

Maybe the ground could have a few dedicated pay cash on the gate turnstiles available for use at some games ?

Will never, never happen in a month of Sundays.City have rules and regulations enforced on them by the Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council ref Health & Safety.

love how people have a pop at something they know nothing about.

I had to laugh at people worrying about getting Champs League tickets!

That said, I think the ticket dispensing machine is a decent idea providing peoe are happy with more "tourists"!
5 mins before kick off against Roma the queue for ticket collection stretched back to the tram stop. Hate to think how late some people got in. Probably had to push past the early leavers to get in

But your tickets well in advance Gingera Dad and there is no issue.

I agree the club should do more for people wishing to pitch up on the day (especially when the CL games are far from sold out).

Agreed in principle with buying early Tim, but for midweek games there's a bigger minority who can't always commit early, due to work commitments etc.
But yes, it was manic that night - I do know my cousin finally got to his seat in the 43rdminute having queued up.
Even if you don't buy tickets early, even if you buy them close to match day, it doesn't mean you should expect to have to miss 1/3 to 1/2 of the match

Today at 13.30,City web site shows Spurs is a sell out, Go on ticket section you have tickets available in 9 blocks! This is the type of thing that needs sorting out, take a look at my posts I have no problem with the staff but is the admin "Fit for purpose" in my opinion its a big NO.

I'm in the cup scheme thank God. I would never pick my tickets up on match day. Our turnstile is right next to the ticket office and I see the poor sods queuing before every game
