Ticket prices are now a problem at City

It is 100% matchday pricing that is the issue here.
Not season tickets.
Bottom line is if you price it right, people will go.
Of course there will be the apathy factor..the reason im not going to the cl league games this yr for which i apologolise..but i am sure if tickets were 20-25 the other night for adults instead of 35 tge crowd would have been over 40k.

Disagree with this.

THOUSANDS of supporters dropped the Champions League cup scheme this season. Many of these dropped out because the season ticket price went up and they saw this as balancing their books. I'll be dropping the cup schemes as well if the season ticket price goes up again.

Of course, you're right that ticket sales would be higher if singular tickets were cheaper but a lot of season ticket holders made their minds up previously when they dropped the cup schemes. At a push they'll go to the Bayern game but it's unlikely they'll go to all 3 group games.

we have much cheaper season tickets than Villa, but that's not the issue

the moan is the issue

It's not the issue, and I'm not sure it's true either.
i checked their kids prices before posting

From villa's website:

"Adult season prices for the forthcoming season will range from £335 to £615, with a family of four (including two U18s) able to secure tickets for £725 in specific family areas."

That seems pretty cheap to me.

we're just going round in ever increasing circles here

we were comparing kids prices, not adults away, not families, not one armed hermaphrodites, but kids
and on that score we come out cheaper

however his issue was with single match day tickets because Villa have a special deal this week
probably because they have thousands of tickets to push
City don't have that issue with PL tickets, end of

for some reason you and others seem to think i want to charge £150 per ticket!

Do Villa offer refunds?

Now that's impressive if true.

Do the kids also get a free bottle to kick around at the side of the pitch at Blackburn?

Back in my day that bottle would of been recycled, those kids have it lucky!

They do have child cruelty laws still don't they?

For me at least winning or losing games has nothing to do with the price I'm willing to pay. If it did we wouldnt have had many left to enjoy the current success.

I assume our season tickets will be reduced for next season if we finish second this year following your logic?

Eh? We hardly lose at home so we get a lot of demand for league matches because it's good value for money, thus whilst there is demand you have to set a price that is financialy viable.

Villa, as has been pointed out by Squirtyflower (if you bothered to read the thread you will of seen it) that fans aren't going to the home matches like we do so they have to offer incentives.

Now you see the logic or do I have to get Spock?

Pfft the cheek, they don't know how lucky they are!

I wish City were owned by chicken farmers!

So by what your saying as we are champions its absolutely fine to charge a child £33 ? So if we win the treble £40 champs league £50 a kid ? We have got another 6000 seats to shift next time for big games a possibly QPR stoke etc on a Wednesday ? How many of the waiting list do you think will take s/t when they don't get offered £299,tickets ? If the kids don't get into the habit of going to football we will lose the next generation. Very very shortsighted to price out the current match day ticket fan when they will be begging for them back next season

You're implying that the better the team, the more you should pay to watch them so if we finish second then I'm looking forward to our season ticket costs going down. It'll lessen the disappointment of not winning it. Seriously though, maybe if we had better incentives, we'd have bigger attendances for champions league and league cup matches because we haven't already been fleeced. City's current ticket pricing policy seems very short sighted.

Have you evidence of this, and don't quote the attendance on Tuesday as "evidence" because it was pretty well what we got for similar priced games last year.
