Ticket queues in Glasgow

To add to this, and the increasing hurdles being put before us, they continue to merrily hand out tickets and wristbands on the Thomas Cook package mid-flight - it wouldn't surprise me to see TC travel banners on social media news feeds blatantly advertising "avoid the queues in the cold and the rain"

WTF they hand out City tickets regardless of who's who? Is that why there's always the same clusters of empty seats in the North stand?

Yes mate. We spoke to a few in Madrid who were gloating that they didn't have to shoot off from the city centre mid afternoon to get their tickets, which took about 2 hours there and back. They simply produced their ID on the plane apparently.

The alternative was worse as loads of blues thought that pitching up at the collection point circa 530/6pm would be a breeze.

The reason there's clusters of empty seats in North Stand is lads buying cheaper season tickets then walking round the concourse to go and stand with their mates who've paid much higher prices in the South Stand where demand is greater.

If the reports I've heard are true Ric, & I've no cause to doubt the people who told me, that is what happened. They were however told they couldn't book on the flight if they hadn't got the requisite points though. But at least they wouldn't have stood around. Not sure if that happened in Glasgow though.

The whole family stand concept whilst a nice idea, has been more trouble than it's worth imo. Should have just left the fans to work out their own family friendly areas.

Therein lies the issue.

They're quite happy to let a partner company distribute to folk who are probably paying top dollar for their away trips but then expect the rest of us to sit and watch whilst they take the piss.

Totally agree mate.
It's sterile as f*** even when full and then you get an email from the club if you accidentally let the c word or f word when venting your spleen!

Never known anything quite like it today ledge. Worst part was these 'blues' getting piss wet through for the best part of 2 hours yet praising the club. Brainwashed. I'm not even bothering in Germany. Might aswell spend my €50 in a bar watching it on telly.

Tin foil hat time - it would certainly benefit the authorities if they had on film every fan that is attending the match as a away fan. Have on CCTV every fan entering the collection point and it would be easy to identify people if it was to kick off etc

I think it is being done for control but not convinced it has anything to do with getting us on Cctv or security but everything to do with trying to get people to use the overpriced Thomson's official packages.
Currently if we take 2500 to Spain/Germany or wherever 2000 will book independently via booking.com/easyjet/ryanair or whoever, kickback to city from these firms is zero.
However book via Thomson's and city get a kickback from every booking. Probably small change in the greater scheme of things to the club but so was sticking £50 on season tickets year after year but they still did it.
Eventually a lot of blues who don't want to give up on euro aways but are sick of two hours standing in rain (Glasgow) 28 stop round tube trip (Paris) going out to the stadium early doors then back to the city centre again (Madrid) 30 minute walk across the city (Kiev) as a few examples will get sick of it and just book on the official trip so you can arrive in the host city with your ticket already in hand free to enjoy your day and have fun like euro aways used to be for all.
 
Travelled on the £39 Thomson Day trip and was given my ticket before we'd even got out of Manchester. Didn't even have to show any ID.
Got to Glasgow and couldn't meet anyone because they were all stuck in the queue.
Absolute farce, and close to packing it all in.
