Ticketing Compliance Manager - Man City

City stopping the touts,so they can tout it themselves.
They are looking for a scapegoat to blame it on and reduce the loyalty pot further.

Who applies for a job when there is no indication of the wage? Someone without much experience looking for a foothold or someone on the dole.

Have you used the tills where you are being filmed as you scan the items? You can see your face and the items you are scanning and buying on the screen above you. I usually wave and make faces at the camera when I’m scanning the items. Nobody has ever asked if they can film me whilst I’m scanning the items.

I don’t like them, feels like I’m being judged for buying a frozen pizza, beers and haribo.

All sorts off staff, and former staff, have access to tickets and the majority aren't city fans.
Makes no difference. The club will define which unofficial sales channels are to be investigated by the compliance manager.
The only chance of anything sensible coming out of this is if the vast majority of non-compliant transactions can be traced back to the club or its employees.

Email re tomorrow:

"We look forward to welcoming you to the Etihad Stadium for tomorrow's FA Cup match against Newcastle United, kick-off 5:30pm.

Ahead of your visit, we want to remind you that as a concessionary Ticket Holder, you may be asked to present evidence of your age upon arrival in the Etihad Stadium to prove you qualify for a ticket in this age bracket.

We therefore recommend if you are over 14, you bring one of the following pieces of evidence to present should it be required:

Photograph of your passport
Driver’s License
National Identity Card

Should you fail to present this evidence to prove you are eligible for your current ticket, you will be required to visit the Fan Support Office to upgrade your ticket."

Majority of kids won't have the second two and some won't have a passport.

I've got a good mate who follows Newcastle home & away. He was telling me they have some new person who is doing this role there. They have been sending out electronic tickets for away games, but deliberately leaving a percentage deactivated, so that when peope get to the away end entrance the ticket doesn't work, they then have to go to the ticket office and show ID, to prove they are the same person who bought the ticket. This has been causing issues where people have gone with their kids, the kid has scanned their ticket and gone in first, then the parent's ticket is deactivated so they can't get in, and have to go and get the ticket activated, leaving their kids on their own in the ground.

He's gone home & away for years and is talking about now sacking the away games off.

This should be good....

PREMIER LEAGUE TICKET SURVEY

We’ve been asked by the FSA to collate views of City fans about our club’s current ticketing policy. Rather apt on the day we draw Real Madrid again, we can only hope the club have learnt from the fiasco last season & also if they want a wall of noise, not to overprice it so that we get a passionate crowd in.

This report goes to the FSA then the Premier League directly. They want to know about ticketing issues at all clubs (Spurs have been high profile this week for throwing their elderly fans under the bus on ticket prices).

The questions are all listed and could we have your answers by the end of the weekend please.

For example, City are appointing a ticket compliance officer now, supposedly to target touts (if that’s the case just arrest people outside the ground) but our concern here is that it’s actually another motive, monitor who is passing on tickets to friends and family at face value instead of selling back to the club, where it will then be sold on a package to anybody at a higher price. Is that not ticket touting? We are already seeing supporters being hassled in south lower especially around 114/115 a line of stewards, all useless like the keystone cops, checking people’s tickets 3 or 4 times to check their seat number and who knows in the future - asking for ID (this has already happened in the East Stand for supporters over the age of 14).

When a season ticket is not renewed currently that ticket then goes into the general sale pot. Just so the club can charge more. This inevitably means a different person sat next to you each game which ultimately means a quieter ground as we become a collection of individuals.

The price of everything… and the value of nothing.

Some fans will also argue that the prices the club charges still represents good value to watch the best tea in the world.

But are we being treated well ?

Let’s have your thoughts.

I've been getting that email from the club

My lad is 10 so wouldn't be checked, only ID he would have up to 16 is his passport which I wouldn't be a fan of him carrying around at the football

Do City own the ground around the stadium, when I walk to south stand there are plenty of people asking to buy or sell tickets, just like the old days outside Maine road, if they own it surely City can escort these people off the grounds, they’d have to operate on the pavements outside which I would think severely hamper them.

So last week it was the FOCs (Funny Old Codgers) being welcomed in this way and this week the SCKs (Squeaky Clean Kiddies) Mmmm the thing is you NAPs (Normal Adult People) will never really need to prove your age as you pay full price. Who are the lucky group and if it turns out to be the FOCs will we get the return of Meat and Potato pies as a reward? :-)

You don't need an actual passport. It's says a photo but I've got a scan of mine on my phone as it's clearer in case they can't believe I really am a FOC :)
