Tickets sold vs attendance

About a 1,000 empty seats - no more. My block was totally full. I saw a few empty seats in the North Stand and West Stand. Season ticket holders who couldn't get to the game?

Whatever the reason, the numbers are being Grossly exagerated.

I didnt like the way that craig burley suggested that people didnt turn up because of the snow. He didnt once consider the effect that the snow might have had

I hope Craig Burley somehow manages to burn his face off after having an accident involving an exploding pan of molten chip fat.

Careful now, people have been banned for this sort of thing.

It was written with a sardonic/jocular tone in mind.

Though I didnt go to the game myself I had my lil girl I watched the game noticed all the empty seats, I believe that u should count how many people go through the turnstiles its all computerised so it wouldnt be that difficult to work out Im sure.
Also do we believe that the same would have happened if it was United and not Fulham that all those tickets bought by fans would have stayed away from the match.
We are City I was born City Live City Love City and Die City.
I would walk to the ground from where I live to watch City, so the snow does it again n its freezin thats no excuse not to go to a game.

I wouldn't miss it either but the conditions around the ground were dangerous if you're old or not too steady on your feet. Simply too dangerous for some people to go.

Obvious it was because of the snow came to that conclusion immediately.

I'm sure anyone between 16 and 60 (without disabilities though I did see some people in wheelchairs) would have gone if they were in Manchester. Some people outside Manchester probably didn't risk it.

It was irritating enough trying to get back to Blackburn on the train (especially with changes due to railworks even without the snow) so those further away probably didn't go.

Attendences since the all seater stadia rule in the Premiership have always been calculated on tickets sold, that includes season ticket sales, away fan tickets sales and general or open sale in the stadium bowl.....
Sold out signs go up when every seat is allocated, but does'nt includes box's and some other corporate seats, hence a sell out of say, 47200 when our biggest crowd so far is 47422, meaning more box/corporate seats were sold.
Having worked 100's of matches at several clubs in the North West, every attendance is calculated in the same way.
Obviously the Swamp has most empty seats as its the largest ground but between 1000 and 1800 seats can be empty there every week.
Around me yesterday were about 8 or 9 empty seats where regulars normally sit and sveral others were filled by mates or relatives.
My little lad didn't go yesterday as he was knackered, we sit in the colin Bell Stand, block 131 before you start slagging me off for sitting in the North Stand, normally I upgrade it for a mate but they couldn't go either.
So, there are always empty seats, add a few hundred more to the norm and it starts to show.
My view yesteday was that there weas about 45500 in the ground, maybe 6 or 700 less than normal on a sell out.

Could award additional loyalty points for attending the game.
Also an exchange system should be available at sold out games.

There used to be an exchange system called ticket exchange does it no longer exist?

I only decided that I, and the lad, could afford to go on Thursday - by which time it had sold out.
My mate told me on Saturday morning that he couldn't go so I had an adult and junior but the ground said there are no upgrades available on the day. Didn't bother chancing it so 2 empty seats.

If there were close to 47,000 at Eastlands then I have 3 legs, 4eyes and can fly!! "Packed house with close to/just over 47,000 at Eastlands today''. Bollocks.

Before the muppets come out in force...this is not a moan, rather a genuine question, regarding the official procedure for calculating attendance figures at not only this, but every match.

Surely it has to be tickets sold? There quite clearly was not 47,000 bums in seats last night for whatever the reasons.

You are an Idiot!

You could at least get the stadium name right before spouting off....

Explained that situation in previous posts as you evidently seem to be aware so not going to repeat myself.

Aside from Jack Walker I couldn't give a toss about Rovers and especially their fans.

okay then glory hunter ;) x
