Now we want him after an extension, I wonder if we could pull this off. It would be mega!
 
Had the chance the whole time to buy him but yeah we are interested a month after his extension until 2030! Can’t believe Txiki is getting away with this bullshit

There was tons of reported interest before the extension. He signed it presumably because he wanted to stay in Milan, not because we weren't interested.

Their financial situation next year with a lack of CL football might be what is making this possible. He's a player that should be playing at the highest level.

Contract extension these days are a way of guaranteeing the money you want with a release clause but also keeping the player happy if a club won’t meet it.

Obviously not sure if there is a clause for him just saying it happens a lot.

That offer is a slap in the face to Milan.

This guy is top flight while our midfield requires a walker (not Kyle) and a piss bag to keep it upright and we're tossing low balls.

That's not what I meant. When is the last time we spend 100m on more than one player? Realistically, we would need to spend close to 100m for Reijnders, and about 150 to get Wirtz. That's just not how we operate, we rarely spend big amounts on individual players.

If we sign Wirtz or Reijnders, that's a huge win. Both is fantasy football, I wish we could get both, but I just don't see it.

It will be one big name at best, and the likes of MGW, PL standouts etc. I would love to be proven wrong, though. I feel like we need several big names at this point.

City tend to set a value for a player and stick to it - even if it means we miss out - the problem this summer is that our antics over the last two summers have seen us move from a position of relative strength to one of relative weakness. We are desperate for reinforcements, so negotiations will be tough.

What makes you think this guy is worth 100m? From what I have seen Nico O'reilly is just as good as this Reindeer guy.

Reijnders has been a talking point for at least two seasons. If you’ve never watched him there’s no point in making harsh comments
 
Also has been in the international set up for a few years, since he’s been at AC he didn’t make the set up whilst playing in Holland yet still got a big move.

He turned down Barca to go to AC as well.
