We had a couple of good cup wins so fans were upbeat going into a home game against a struggling Fulham, a game that teams with a winning mentality and top four ambition and drive would have brushed aside and got the points, however City yet again as in previous seasons come up with a lethargic, sloppy performance and two vital points are dropped.

I look around at the likes of Spurs, Rags and Chelsea and I see players dying for the shirt, going down to win free kicks and trying anything to win the match and yet I look at City and see a team yet again going through the seasonal motions looking as if they are willing to accept failure again.

Our players have to step up starting tonight, we can't afford replays we need to take control of our home games and win them. I want to see arms up in the air claiming for throw ins and free kicks even when they clearly are not, this is the winning desire we lack and it is up to our players to produce now and show the fans that they want it, if not I'm afraid that we may never see that spark of a winning mentality at our club and another season will pass us by.

Come on City it's time to perform!!

Great quote by Noel Gallagher the other week ...... "City never miss an opportunity, to miss an opportunity"
.
.
........ really hope this is not the case tonight.... its all set up for us ...... Home draw for the last 16.... Home draw for the quarters..... Arsenal or rags to go out in Quarters ...... the possibility of a semi against Brum/Bolton/Stoke/West Ham (if we can avoid one of the other 2) ....... Its there for the taking.

all down to the manager i,m afraid
villa will turn up understanding cup football and play it fast and furious
mancini will tell his stars to slow it down dont rush ,build it slowly dont concede and try to nick a goal
hes a clown and wont win anything for city

we really need milner and barry to step up tonight, they never play well against villa, especailly barry.

I think you have summed it up nicely, Commitment/Passion 24/7 comes to mind

It would be nice to see some urgency tonight.

Too often this season we have let games dwindle out, irrespective of whether or not we're winning.

We need high-intensity and a desire tonight... 'cos if they don't show it tonight you really have to wonder what they are waiting for.

Stroll about, tip-tappy fanny merchanting... any of that tonight and the crowd will let them know it's not acceptable.

So WE need to be prepared to put pressure on the players to perform at this tempo if the manager is not!

u fukin idiot

In my humble opinion I believe we will go out all guns blazing tonight!

Mancini will know that the support are desperate for this, that the crowd will not allow the team to toddle off into a slumber, that the crowd will be unforgiving if we don't give it a right good fucking go!

I expect lots of goals tonight. I expect bookings and sendings-off. I expect a hard-won victory. I expect to come on here tomorrow when everyone is buzzing!

Anything less will be unacceptable.

What a load of crap. In numerous post-match interviews, Mancini or Platt have said that we needed to play the ball quicker. You sound just like the embarrassing idiot I sit next to who thinks the manager is to blame for every stupid mistake. Clown.

Players are fucking tired, it's pretty clear that this is the reason we were shit against Fulham. We've barely any fit players, and they were playing a really high-tempo match.

Mancini has given them 2 days off training for the match tonight, a good thing to do I think.

I posted advocating exactly this yesterday. This is the team I want:

.........................HArt

Richards.....Boateng....Lescott..........Zabaleta

..................Milner.......Barry................

.........Silva.........Tevez..............Balotelli
........................Dzeko........................

Get at them, get at them early and win the game in the first half. The whole club needs the lift - and the last thing we need is a replay. Whist there will be lots of hand-wringing amonst the fans if we go out it won't actually be a disaster, because our top 4 battle is the most important thing. So if we go out, go with a bang and not a whimper.

How can we grow up when the players are still running round in short trousers?

This^

Never known a time when city have played so frequently, particularly at home. It's not just pysical fatigue, it's the mental fatigue which comes with playing for a team which is so much under the spotlight at the minute

Spot on DD.

Tonight has no bearing on our main priority this season, we simply cannot afford a replay, so we have to grab it by the scruff of the neck and strangle the fucking life out of Villa!

Slightly different team though, as I would like to have something on the bench to bring on and change the game if necessary...

Hart
Richards.... Boateng.... Lescott.... Kolarov
Milner....Toure.... Barry
Silva...................................Balotelli
Tevez

I'd have Dzeko and SWP set to come on if needed.

Too many disappointments, too many let-downs... but not tonight for fuck's sake!

we ve been here before,an never took the chance, ie west spam??. the season is fading away and these players dont have the will to turn it around!!
all they care about is their paypacket, they have no loyalty to the shirt,or to the club...Tired???? MY FOOKING ARSE!!!! i wouldnt mind earning a living by playing three games of footy a week!!
if they dont stand up and produce tonight, then its fooking bye bye this season, cos chelski and the yids are on us and we will soon be waving em off, over the hill....
this is what arab money has bought us....!!!
