"Time To Go Mario"

You would think he held the club to ransom saying we lack ambition or left for 6 months and then just popped back. Seems more like he shagged his best mates bird? No? Maybe his brothers wife? No?

4 red cards in 2 years you say? Ahhhhh how many goals? Ohhh good for the goose is good for the gander you say?

Shows a lack of understanding at this level so if he has been sent off 4 times in over 40 games how is that a common factor? He scores a goal every second game which strikers in the world have that return?

There are a plethora of reason why, ultimately, City will end this season trophyless, and yes Mario is one of them. However it is far too simplistic, and whole inaccurate, to label our failure to win anything this term as "Mario's fault".

David Silva, a revelation pre Christmas, has gone off the boil spectacularly. His performances were once an 8 out of 10 at worst, now he's getting 6 out of 10 at best.

A complete collapse of away form is also to blame. A few statistics from the last 10 league games:-

Scored only 5 times.
Picked up only 9 points.
Won only 2 games.

Simply put, that's the kind of form that wins you nothing.

Seriously flawed refereeing decisions, both against City, and for our nearest rivals. The recent penalty calls at Old Trafford are just the tip of the iceberg here.

And, yes, Balotelli. 5 matches missed through suspension, and now anything from 4 to potentialy 9 matches to be missed going forward. Add to that some truly uninspiring performances on the pitch, signs of petulance, lack of effort or quality and Mario has been a disappointment more often than a success. Yes, he's scored 17 times in all competitions (5 penalties) which, on the face of it, is a pretty decent return but it's the way his play affects those around him as much as his personal achievements that affects the result.

I think the main factor is not a lack of attacking power more defence. We have let in sloppy goals and Joe Hart along with Silva have all gone off the boil in my eyes. We have scored enough goals to be top but let in too many soft ones. This could also be due to those ref decisions "Crouchs push before the wonder goal." for starters.

Mario is now the focal point of everyones frustration but realistically as a second striker with Aguero being our main man. Mario has done his job. He needs fine tuning its like meeting a chubby playboy model you dont dump her because she sneaks out for chocolate ice cream you teach her how much better she would look if she worked hard and listened to you.

Assuming he only receives a 4 game ban for his latest red card (obviously if the FA charge him with the challenge on Song it could be significantly more) that will still be 9 games missed through suspension this season. 9 games out of 55 that he's made himself unselectable for. Yes, when he's on the pitch he scores goals, although when he isn't scoring he isn't contributing much else to games, but he's a liability. Balotelli needs to stay on the pitch, it's that simple. He's been at City since last summer and, so far he's seen red against West Brom, Dynamo Kiev, Liverpool, Tottenham (retrospectively), Arsenal and potentially a second "red card" for the same Arsenal game (irrespective of whether or not he is punished for the Song challenge he should have been punished, and that's what we're talking about here, his behaviour not whether he manages to "get away with it").

Agreed but I was watching Sky and one of those Spanish pundits made a valid point. Maybe because of the type of team we have we should play to the players strengths for example Robinho could not track back. Maybe Mario should be told not to tackle and just try his best to do what he is an expert at attacking. He tries too hard and its obvious he lacks the delicate skill to be a good tackler. He is an Italian Scholes but because he is dressed in blue and not red he is pulled up on it more often. I say one more year even if it means he is 3rd choice and makes cameo appearances until he learns. This year he was in the spot light as Tevez was AWOL and should never have led the line so often. But give him that last chance.

I'm sorry, but that's just not true. Hart, apart from maybe 1 or 2 moments, has been fantastic throughout this season. As for the problem being defensively, again I simply don't agree. In the last 10 away matches we've conceded 8 times. That's not too bad, could be better, but less than 1 goal a game is a good record. We've scored 5 times in those 10 games. Even if we'd kept 10 clean sheets that means that, at most, we could still only win 5 of out last 10 away games. I'm not saying we've been fantastic defensively, we've made mistakes (mistakes I'd suggest may well have had a lot to do with Kompany/Lescott not being our pairing as regularly as we'd have liked since Christmas due to suspension and injury) but it's the goalscoring that has been the real issue here.

Mario has, on occasion, done his job. The issue is when he doesn't do his job he's not worth his place on the teamsheet. When Mario isn't contributing he's either offering nothing else whatsoever or he's detrimentally affecting the side by his attitude and/or behaviour.

You cannot defend Mario's behaviour,he's just a dickhead with little appetite for the cause - i only wish that would change.....

However, although he has probably caused frustration, anger and unrest within the dressing room because of his behaviour,to blame him for our recent poor form is just ludicrous.

Mancini is to blame not Mario - Mancini knew his temprement and knew what he was getting - we the fans could see most of Marios red a long time before he got it Mancini did fook all

Cant blame a player for behaving in the manner he has always behaved - a shit player is always a shit play and a mad one is always a mad one

Fault lies with Mancini but most people are far far too uncomfortable with this and are looking for scapegoats

My only point would be that Hart's reaction to the sending off must be rairly indicative of how some of the players feel towards Ballo - Hart is level headed quality pro and his reaction must be ackowledged.
