I would say he's wrongI think Tolmie mentioned tier 1 being safe standing from next season.

The south stand is the only stand that makes any effort! If every other stand was as vocal we’d have the best atmosphere in England! The problem is that 3/4s of our ground are silent and the worst of those 3 is the family stand.
In comparison to other similar areas, eg the South stand level for level, it is cheaper or at least used to be. Not by a lot though.it’s actually dearer in the family stand than in large parts off SS3
Heard it all now, the atmosphere is down to the Family Stand. Most premier league crowds are no different to City, the away crowd making most of the noise.
Too many "Big City" fans trying to dictate how other fans should behave at a football match, fuck off Stalin.
Especially now as fans are just people who go to football matches. People are avoiding situations that have any risk of contracting Covid and ending up in isolation over the Christmas New Year period, after so many didn't see family at this time last year.Watching the other games in MOTD last night and there were lots of empty seats at places like the London Stadium and Carrow Road. Covid is stopping people going at the moment. It’s like that across hospitality and other leisure activities.
Where do those currently in NS L1 go to and will they have to pay more? There’s a real risk of losing more fans than you gain I would say.The Family Stand is getting scapegoated. The South Stand was like the Marie Celeste with 5 minutes to go, yesterday.
Single issue solutions won’t significantly improve the atmosphere, I’m afraid. We are lucky that 1894 continue to try to improve things.
If North Stand Level1 was turned into Safe Standing then I think it would be worth giving Supporters Club Branches first call on those tickets to try to generate more support for the lads. That’s the best chance we’ve got of having two more vocal ends IMHO.
Sorry JRB but why is the family stand wrong?People and families who were sat with each other for years in the North stand were moved out of the North stand and we’re punished to make way for the Family stand. The club forced them out of the North stand and moved them to different parts of the ground. The Club them moved some of those fans again so they could create more corporate areas. Those fans didn’t want to move from the North stand. They had little or no say in that happening.
In theory a family stand is the right and a great idea. There should always be a place at the Etihad for the kids who are City’s future support. But the club got the Family stand wrong, and went about it the wrong way, and now they are stuck with a dilemma of where to relocate the family stand, if that is true?
Would you be happy with your hardcore singing area being full of seat kicking ,playing games on there phones all match 7 year olds ?Sorry JRB but why is the family stand wrong?
I dont see that at games much arround me to be honest. Also why does it have to be hardcore singing area?Would you be happy with your hardcore singing area being full of seat kicking ,playing games on there phones all match 7 year olds ?
I understand what your saying we are in the same boat but once these people who use your spare ticket are on your f and f list we have found it easier getting tickets to them ,no messing about meeting up or returning the sesson cardWe have three tickets in the family stand, two concessions and one adult. When ever one of us couldnt go we would always take a friend or family member or on one occasion just give the tickets away. We also exchanged tickets cards easily with those arround us, now the club have made that much harder to do, we didnt do it the club did.
Ive sat in there for over 10 years and never heard that tbh.I was in the family stand once a few years ago and some idiot actually shushhed me when I celebrated a goal.
What kind of mentality is that.
I'm making the point those that are moaning would they be happy with the little ones mixed in with the non family adults ? ,I felt guilty yesterday singing we never win at home as 2 little girls 8ish stared me outI dont see that at games much arround me to be honest. Also why does it have to be hardcore singing area?

Not the worst idea in the world….but why not use the academy stadium? Beam back every game there (apart from early cup games) make it a real family focused event that’s really cheap (£5-£10) mascots, giveaways, player/ex player appearances, half time penalty shootouts/or other competitions, maybe even tie it in with some football coaching for Sat/Sun afternoon games. We already have the infrastructure to facilitate it and it would ensure the next generation are watching City & do have that connection from an early ageThe athletics stadium
True, but you dont have to join in every song.I'm making the point those that are moaning would they be happy with the little ones mixed in with the non family adults ? ,I felt guilty yesterday singing we never win at home as 2 little girls 8ish stared me out
I can imagine this morning their mother asking them to do something and the Reply being no ,I don't give a fuck :+)
I'd move the family stand to where u sit and then you relocate for a change. Stop believing the myth that its only the Family stand have issues. Did you see the amount of no shows in the south stand today ??
