Time To Name The East Stand The Trautmann Stand Now.........

Good idea. Oh, and for those saying we don't have many legends, I think they are getting legends mixed up with the new found cult of celebrity. Any footballer who 'tweets' or gets involved in the media is now a 'legend'.

I'd have no issues whatsoever with the Bert Trautmann Stand, in fact I'd rather have that than the Allison Stand.

Was the Colin Bell stand named after a campaign, or did someone at the club just decide it was a good idea?

I'd be amazed if there was much resistance against a Bert stand!

There was an internet poll at the time and some 40,000 voted for the Colin Bell Stand. Some of us believe the vote was hijacked by rags cos it would be hilarious for us to be kicking towards the bell end. A seperate poll amongst supporters clubs had opted for the Joe Mercer Stand.

Just one thing... I've always pronounced Bert's name as 'Trout-man' (as in the fish) although I've heard 'Trort-man' on many occasions too. Which is the correct one?

Who cares if Bert didn't play at the Etihad. To name one of the stand's behind a goal to him to me is a must. The bloke isn't just a City legend, he's one of the most iconic footballers of all time given the divides he helped bridge after WW2.

Arsenal remember the tradition and legends of Highbury, despite now being at The Emirates and we should do the same.

And it would be especially nice to do this whilst the great man himself could see it.

Make it happen City.

"Make it Happen City " "Name the East Stand the Traughtman Stand Now" i was always brought up that if you wanted something you should ask nicley for it not just demand & expect it to happen
