Ask a Brazilian person the same question and see how they react. Absolute joke of a thread.
thats because their domestic league is shite.

bit like city opting out of the pl and relegating themselves to play some shit team from div 3. pointless imo.

They weren't in the 70's though when I was going to these games. And I rather see a England friendly against any home Championship side, than an England Peru or England V some other shite nobody of a team that they have to fly half way round the world to play. Money obviously plays a big part! I miss the England Scotland games they were very intense, especially at Hampden Park

yeh, in the 70's it had its place i agree, but now...............nah, i just cant see any benefits to it whatsoever im afraid. will agree to disagree ;)

They should cancel all int. games during season, which would mean our season ended earlier as games brought forward - international teams would then have longer to meet up at end of season for 3-4 weeks proper training/tactics etc, followed by tournaments. Still enough time for end of season break.

Problem is, all these friendlies etc are money generator for FA who need Wembley to be used more often

Agreed International Football is not thaty great compared to Club football (especially the premiership). However it will always be around - players and country's will always want to play for/follow their team.

Simply can't picture football without internationals. It's such a huge part of it. The world cup is the one time every 4 years non football fans tune in.

not a chance. it needs rejuvenating, i'll give you that. i'd like to see meaningful home and away matches for england worldwide. can you imagine playing a world cup qualifier in buenos aires?

but we are English not Brazillian and we support an English club so your point is mute
and whilst we continue to buy non european players the distance they travel etc is crazy so the sooner it ends or we buy only european players the better

couldn't care less about the England football team the only English team I follow is the CRICKET TEAM

It's not that interesting annd it interferes too much with the football season these days.
Lets say it DIDN'T interfere with the football season and the games prior to these matches WEREN'T cancelled......would you still want to scrap International football?

try telling that to a bury fan or an oldham supporter its the chance for lower league supporters to get a bit of the glamour.I`ve never been a huge England lover but just because we have a team full of internationals we can watch every week doesn`t mean internationals are not important anymore...smacks of rag arrogance to me
