But the fans, at the end of the day, are just the fans, we didn't kick him out, we didn't treat him the way he has claimed he was treated, when he has had a go at the club, he's not having a go at the fans, and I struggle to see how some people can't see the difference.

The club, the fans, the manager, the owner and the players are all seperate of eachother. He's not having a pop at the club and the fans, he's having a go at Mancini, those are very different things and I can't understand why some people can't see that. How is he being disrespectful to the fans. It is not us he has a problem with. Whether we cheered him on or not or whether the fans protected him when he was getting a lot of hastle of the Irish team, well it is all irelevant to how he was treated. We had nothing to do with it.
I actually agree with you - so I've got my tin hat on. He's said nowt wrong, BUT then he said some shit, once. He'll die for that here.

But the media, fans of other clubs etc don't see it as all being seperate....In everyone's eyes 'City' (The club, manager and fans) have treated him badly....it all reflects on us.

He is showing his immaturity and lack of professionalism in talking like he is....yes, shut it Stevie....

The last time he said about his granny's sickness, has doubts on his honesty.
The last time he played for City and blaming others for his mistake that led to the rags only goal, has doubts on his performance.
I'll be the first to boo you when you play here. @#**!!#^ U stevie.

I listened to the interview after reading it and it came across very differently. They missed out every other line in the papers, eg. after saying about Mancini having no relationship with players, his next comments were about how he understood different managers have different methods.
Like most footballers, he's detached from reality but nothing he's said is a supprise, I think Milner does everything better than Ireland and that this is a great deal for us.

News of the world in 'distorting the truth' shocker.

Amazing how many on here only read what they want to read to fuel their own agendas in the medja.
the day i let ragtops like notw decide how i feel on ANY subject (apart possibly on a photo of a fit young filly), will be the day after i die.

Stevie will regret all the things he's said about us. When he returns to play at COMS, he'd have been treated as a hero, - doubt that will happen now.

All the hard work he and City have put in, building his career is gone. People will just remember him slagging us off.

A great shame Stevie, you've really pissed on your chips mate and shown less maturity than my 9 yr old daughter. Now fuckin' shut it!

I'm struggling to think of anything he could have said that would be more disrepectful to the fans than admitting he didn't care whether we won or lost and that he now feels as though he never even played for us.

Roberto Mancini won't give a shit about these comments as he obviously already knew what a weak character he has. The only people hurt by him lashing out like this are us, the fans, the people who supported him through thick and thin. It's a direct slap in the face of everyone who's ever backed him during his time at City.

Well if some weren't so sensitive nobody would be hurt. I mean when will ye get it, it's not about the fans, in this day in age, when Ireland was making his decisions and 90% of players make decisions the interests and feelings of the fans are way down on the list of considerations.
It's not about the fans, that's what ye get, I mean ye stress that this is just business this new professional club that wants to be and could well be a very succsfull team, I hate the fact it's become so robotic and the loyalty has gone out the window, but it's been stressed on here not to be sentimental. And we will have playes being treated badly, irregardless of how much money they are given, and they will be hurt and burned and like Ireland, and in a way like Bellamy, what could well be Given and Ade maybe, they wont just smile and leave, some will be more professional in their approach, but others wont.

Welcome to the professional game. This is the new Manchester City, this is what everyone wanted. Now that is not me having a go at the club, I'm just saying, most here wanted, whatever it takes to be done to be succesfull never mind loyalty or tears or being sentimental, and this is what you get, players hurt like Ireland feels he was and when his future is on the line the first thing he thinks about isn't the fans, it's himself and that is the professional game for ye.

I'm confused, what more did ye expect, him to skip away happily? Maybe some should grow thicker skins because at this rate, he wont be the last to leave like this.

He should be professional about it though and leave all the dirty washing behind him rather than put it on th line for the media to look at. Aaahhh diddums lil Stevie didnt like his new boss and more importantly his boss didnt like him. Does that give him the right to lambast everything City a club who has made him wealthy beyond most of our wildest dreams.

The big problem for me is he has had a go or tried to influence at all parts of the club youth players, manager, Given Milner and us the fans by saying that he did not care whether we won or loss. Ireland has a track record of blaming all his managers and he refuses to identify the common issue which is him

He's not doing himself any favours for when he returns with Aston Villa is he?

First he slags off Mancini / the way he was treated & now he is urging Shay to leave.

Stevie, the fact is you were in shit form for months on end. That was why you were on the bench. I don't care how good you were in training. It's on the pitch where it matters most and that's where you didn't produce.

Shut up & concentrate on your career on your Villa. Goodbye.

I think that Stevies whinging to the media is just pathetic, lost all respect for the guy. He had plenty of opportunities last season and was quite frankly shocking. He should be concentrating on becoming a better footballer at Aston Villa and trying to show that Mancini made a mistake. I despise his arrogant attitude that he was shit last season, he literally couldn't make simple 5 yard passes at times, was all because Bobby was'nt his buddy. At least Bellamy showed a bit of class upon leaving. These guys are priveliged enough to play for God's own club and earn a fortune doing it, the least they can do is show some respect.

Before these comments I wanted Stevie to do well following a move that I think his career needed, now I hope his form of last year continues and he drifts into obscurity!

But he's not a very professional player now is he, he was treated badly in his mind, and maybe he was, but he was burned and he had a go at those who burned him, and we should get used to it because the rate we're going through players, especially ones who've been around for a while and showed loyalty, we're going to get plenty more attacks. He was badly treated and tossed out from a club he's been at forever can you blame him for being hurt, and obviously he wasn't going to keep his mouth shut. Again, somehing else that escapes many of ye, it's not about the money, and paying someone a ridiculous wage doesn't mean that you can treat them badly or that it'll comfort them and shut them up if they were treated badly. It doesn't give us license to do what we please with them and expect them to smile and nod because we pay them.
His dream wasn't (I presume) to be rich, it was to play football.

He has a go at young players that obviosuly he feels have a massive ego and aren't polite, or whatever way he put it, and to be fair I believe that, I can't see young players who are at the richest club in the world being paid a huge amount will be the most humble or grounded group of players, (it's rich coming from him and his cars though, I would still have considered him one of the young players as well to be fair.) He thinks Given is the best keeper he has ever palyed with and shouldn't sit on the bench, well a lot of people think that and it may well be true, but it wasn't his place to say, and Milner, maybe he is just warning him for what could easily come in front of him, but again it in front of the media wasn't exactly the best idea.

He had a go at what he felt needed saying, there's no going back now, but he was badly hurt and clearly does not like the manager one bit and if what he says is true a lot of players wont and probably don't like him. All of which worries me. But apparently I'm alone on that one.
