Time wasting.

Kicking the ball away was virtually stopped when players were booked every time. Then for some reason players stopped being booked and it crept back. Strange.

Another thing I hate is the players showing zero respect to the referees as well, any shouting or approaching should be a yellow and swearing towards or at a ref an immediate red card that would solve that problem, the amount of times I see experience players tell refs to fuck off etc. it’s a disgrace.

On time wasting however it’s part of the gameplan for some sides now and it really spoils the game for me, I’d play on around the injured players unless it’s a genuine head injury be interesting to see how many ‘injuries’ suddenly stopped then and a simple stop the watch with every break in play.

Loads of simple steps could be taken, that don’t require any real effort it just seems they can’t be arsed to do it which is no real surprise as they aren’t fit for purpose, it’s detracting from the game as a whole watching yesterday was a farce just 10 men behind the ball, wasting time from the kick off with zero intent to attack or have an open game of football and that’s most weeks now for a lot of the top teams not solely us.

You say that but all that would do is encourage players to be more convincing actors. The rules are that play stops if a goalkeeper is injured. What should happen if a keeper appears to be injured? Instant yellow card? I can’t see that ever happening.
if that injured they go off the pitch and stay off for treatment for as long as game stopped

I see Pierluigi Collina is pushing for a crackdown on time wasting like we saw in the World Cup.

This would be a great rule change for City, but in the short term we’d probably see extended matches and a dilemma for early leavers - will they still leave on 75 minutes or will the stay another 10 minutes and leave on 85 mins instead?
Would just have more teams wasting time for longer. Wouldn’t put a stop to anything.

There just needs to be a countdown clock for all goal kicks, throw-ins, free kicks and corners and if the hooter sounds after 15 seconds as the ball hasn’t been put back into play, the opposition get the ball:

At a goal kick the opposition get a corner
At a throw-in the opposition get a throw-in from the same place
At a free kick the opposition get a free kick from the same place
At a corner the opposition get a goal kick.

If there’s an injury, play just carries on. It happens in rugby. At A&E you can wait for five, ten, fifteen hours at times before being seen so these cheating game-ruining **** footballers can wait until the next break in play before being treated and they all have to stay off the pitch for a full injury assessment before being cleared to come back on. If that takes ten minutes for a head injury assessment, so be it.

Football has become a shit sport and it needs sorting out. If it weren’t for City, I wouldn’t watch this sport. It’s boring these days. Get it sorted out for fuck’s sake.

I once reffed a County Cup Sunday league game between a 2nd division team & the team who always won the league & usually got to the final. The under dogs took the lead & then went onto waste time constantly. The champions then equalized in the 89th minute. However, I then indicated 9 minutes of injury time. And almost on time the 2nd division team, who had spent the whole game wasting time, scored the winner. Therefore benefitting from their own cheating

Amazes me how teams catch on to the latest craze.
This goalkeeper time wasting of falling to the ground after a simple through ball has to get stopped.
Booking should have started months ago to try and stop it.

The new one that has come in last 18 months is pretend the goalie is going to pass it out from the back hold it for a bit then the goalie gives the eye for the defenders to push up while taking more time out the game!

I was kind of covering that with goal kicks.

I posted this in the match day thread at half time yesterday:

Wait for their next goal kick:

- Guaita takes 15-20 seconds to get the ball placed where he's kicking it from.
- Palace centre halves drop for the short pass.
- Guaita never plays the short pass and another 15-20 seconds has passed.
- Guaita waits for Palace centre halves to run up the pitch, takes 15-20 seconds to kick it.

We lost nearly 10 minutes in that half because of that.

Don't even get me started on throw-ins.

The way to deal with that is the concussion rule, player has to go off for 10 mins but you can bring a sub on but when that sun goes off he cannot be used again. You can still have 5 subs but as many concussion subs as you want but those players can only be used once and then can’t take part again, Everton would be sending on the reserve keeper after 15 mins.
Great idea
