Was at one of her outdoor Woburn gigs in 1990 when she would have been 51. She sounded fantastic and moved like a woman half her age, which was roughly my age at the time. Fek she was hot lady as well as a proper music icon.
Her revival in the early 80s was particularly big in Australia as she starred in the third Mad Max film and she was used a lot in promotion of our rugby league competition.
I seem to recall her being referred to as a rock and roll grandma when she was only in her early forties.
From R&B with the abusive Ike via escape to Rock, Tina conquered the world. A wonderfully powerful voice and a great stage presence, she set the tone for a whole generation of women and inspired them all.
