Tino Livramento

Nah, its been well reported we were after him before CWC:

Its quite clear we and Newcastle had a huge discrepancy in evaluation. Looks like either Tino's agent put some pressure on Newcastle and lower the fee or its not gonna happen at all.

But I agree with those, who do not want this one to slide and 65 m+add on's is more than justified.

‘Reports’ were we were looking at 50m they wanted 80m.

Some may think 80 is extreme but bearing in mind they paid 42m for him I think 50m is a ridiculously low offer.

Shame.

Probably a target for next season. I don’t see Newcastle getting UCL football this season
This is a very good point. He gets another year of being a main guy at Newcastle with CL football. They have struggled to keep and recruit whilst others haven’t.

May be a gamble but a great point we stick a year and try and get him next year. A year of us openly wanting him and a poor season for Newcastle makes it much more likely.

Hence no panic buying/seeing any new links to right backs.

No Its not. Its about right. And the paid 32 million for him. 15 - 18 million over what they originally paid is nothing to sneeze at.

Sorry it was 32 plus 8 which probably has been achieved based on silverware and UCL qualification. I was 2m off!

Like I’ve said numerous times on here Newcastle selling is a really tricky situation. They have money, European football and a long term aim to improve even more. We would have laughed teams off for approaching players like Richards, Kompany, Zaba, Silva, Toure, Aguero etc.

It goes against what they are trying to achieve. You either have to offer so much they are happy with the return and have someone lined up or need to player to force a move like Isak now.

They do not want to be a selling club if their long term aspirations are to be fulfilled.

I dont disagree. And i want us to move on coz he is not worth what it'd cost to get him.

This is the epitome of how a bad buy happens.

I think if they sell Isak and him, it sends a message out that the project isn’t working, so I don’t know why they’d do it.

He looks like he wants out whereas Livramento doesn’t. We’ve always sold players if they don’t want to be here.

But they have to start keeping players. Bruno they did, now it looks like Livramento.

Agreed, although if he had a foreign sounding surname he would be rated even higher
Gaz not sure how much more foreign Livramento can sound! How many do you know from the area you grew up in Manchester (I assume you are a Manc)?
"just popping to the shops with Dave Price, Jay Smith, Tino, Billy, Tom, Mario and Cosmo Livramento mam, be back for tea"

With LB sorted, a plethora of CBs, I can see Nuñes, Khusanov and Akanji playing RB depending on opposition.
Khusanov will get game time at CB as will Akanji.
Rico in midfield.
