Tino Livramento

Pundits and some of the ex pro’s in the UK are the worst experts around. Much better getting input from the continent. Here is another golden nugget in the press

Being pre-internet I'd never seen that nonsense, and to think, we made him our manager in later years with that insight :(

Yes it was really depressing, over and over again
I can understand the reason for starting him with Palace pace on the wings on the counter, although Nunes is quicker, but how he stayed on considering most of the opportunities were coming from that side, I've no idea.

In fairness to him, he's a centre half, so responsible for the goal we conceded more than our lack of ability to create a decent chance. But I still wouldn't want to see him play RB for more than a handful of games all season

Defensively he’s not good enough, he’s definitely improved though but he’s always going to make that stupid pass or stupid challenge in the area but then again……. He isn’t a RB!
I can show you an hours worth of footage for every Rb in world football making mistakes.

The standard that is now seemingly been set for our full back is ridiculous.

Yes, he is a right back now and a good one, whether you think we need or can get better is a different matter.

Need to offload a few to get this done.

Not sure who now?

Ake staying
Stones staying
Bernie staying
Akanji staying
Nunes staying

I would prefer to sell a CB and keep nunes as back up.

I know this is the Tino thread, but as most are discussing Akanji, he’s definitely one I’d let go. I’m not convinced he will make the grade for us now, especially not now we need to create a few gaps in the squad. I definitely reckon his injuries took their toll last season, just not sure we can wait to see if he can find his form.

If you can show me where I said that he was never at our level, please do. The fact is, I said the exact opposite. Read my post again. "You honestly telling me that you think he's performing at the same level as he was 2-3 years ago?"

Fascinating though all of this undoubtedly is, I’m not sure what any of it has got to do with Livramento.

Akanji’s got a perfectly good thread of his own over in Player Performances, FFS!

Nunes appears to have found the one quality you cannot train... he IMO appears to have a swagger/ chip on his shoulder these last few games. From my eye he also looks like he has put on some muscle mass.

I would love to have an undroppable worldie RB but i am feeling confident in what he can do for us and am not ruling out a chunk of the season in him not being considered in those categories. We have added some serious pieces to this squad and are getting some serious armour back in our spine with Rodri.
