Do you think the fact that McAtee caaptained the victorious England players yesterday against Germany as well as getting the official Player of the Match would increase his value?

Surely our target is only higher value to us because we have other McAtee position players already.

If not that a price increase, it at least cements Newcastle's asking price if they were prepared to sell him to City.(which they won't)

Newcastle will also point to the £77 million fee City paid for Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig in 2023 as a benchmark transfer fee.

It's not about comparing, it's about market value.

He's a very good PL player, and a regular first team player for Newcastle. He's also an England under 21 player, and a regular in the England under 21 team.

Like almost everyone else who has contributed to this thread, I would like to see him play for City.

There's no way Newcastle are selling him. Not to us or to any other club that can afford him. Especially after his displays in the European U21 tournament.

Lewis and Akanji are the two who should go.

We can’t keep players based on past achievements.

Sell both and recoup £40/50m?

Spend that on a good solid RB.

The squad balance will look a lot better.

Lewis is good book value aswell and homegrown so might be appealing to other clubs.

In terms of quality I agree with you on Akanji

but what is the point of keeping Stones or Ake if they are never available - Akanji at least gets on the pitch and is not as bad as some are making out and can aso cover right back (again not as well as Stones obviously - not even close) but we would be lucky to get more than 5 games out of Stones in the season.

Rico Lewis Ive said for ages has no place in our squad...not good enough at either fullback or midfield.

No offence, but I don't know where you are getting that Harvey Elliot figure from.

Maybe because Elliot is the better player as you saw during the whole tournament. This comparisons don’t make no sense. Just because someone is the captain doesn’t mean he is the better player.

Livramento is HG and plays for a top 5 PL team + is top in a position with not many top players while McAtee barely played in the PL. Elliot will also not go for 40 only.

They also play in positions that are stacked across the world and will always be stacked, there aren't a lack of CAM/Wingers in world football....neither of those are top 100 in their position atm and probably not top 20 prospects in their positions

Except Josko was one of the lost highly rated young defenders in Europe at the time.

Not even remotely comparable.

That was the rumour.

He had a mixed season.

But we can all see he has the talent. He needs to be played at centre half. Once he settles in at centre half, he will live up to his transfer fee.

As for Livramento, he can be equally as good as a right back, especially with Pep coaching him.
