Will never happen in a million years we already have De Jong and Rowell as defensive midfielders.

Aren't we all assuming that De Jong will move to Inter?

no more
why not? is he staying?

Not playing today - 'injured'
Seeing as he struggled for the majority of the Spurs game after taking an early knock I would say he is 'injured'

Would lose him for the same time we lose Yaya

-- Sat Aug 25, 2012 12:29 pm --

A few proper Journo's tweeting that we have moved for Tiote. actual journo's not attention freaks.

Not 100% sure about him TBH, plus he would be missing for a month in the african cup of nations

who are these journos btw. cheers in advance

EDIT: Feel free to bookmark this and pull me up on it if wrong, but heard this afternoon that we're in for him (no-one from the club or anything, but a guy who keeps his ear to the ground).

Newcastle apparenty want £24m.

City, United and one other club showing serious interest but not willing to match the fee, though might bite at anything under £20m.

whats the point when we have pretty much exactly the same player in de jong. oh dear.

city should employ me

24 Million for Tiote !

Not needed & not worth it.
This. Not only would signing him not make any sense, £24 million takes the piss.

That'd be a busy plane in January... Yaya, Kolo, Razak, Tiote.

Follow the Baconface policy of not signing Africans unless they are too good to pass on (like Yaya), AFCON every 2 years is a joke. Tiote is not too good to pass on.

Mathematics time.

If NDJ wants a 4 year contract on 150k per week that comes to 31.2m over 4 years.

If we say no and NDJ goes on a free, and we have to spend 20m on a replacement, we then - in order to theoretically break-even, have to find a replacement who will accept wages of 53.8k per week (and this is whilst throwing in other factors such as whether he will settle or be happy etc.)

Why we don't keep him I don't know.
