I hate these kind of threads.
Only because I feel like it is tempting fate.
All I will say, is if we do hypothetically win the League this season. For me It will be just as special as the rest of them. For different reasons .
We have had to adapt our game to compensate for losing legends in Yaya,Merlin, Vinny ,and having no recognized striker for big parts. Our manager has had to change his style, become more pragmatic defensively, to compensate for a reduction in goals scored. Pep has impressed me with this.
Many of Pep critics said he could not change his style. well here he is doing just that very effectively.
Yesterday was a masterclass of in game management. He let Liverpool punch them selves out, whilst using the Ropes to bounce around the Ring. Then moved in at the right monent for the kill.
I was a bit critical of this style at first. I think only because it was not what i was used to, I was used to Charge of the Light Brigade football for 90+ minutes.
Now i totally get it.
Our manager is managing what he has here and now at his disposal, rather than trying to recreate the same style with players who are not those legends who have moved on..
We dont have the Rags, Scouse plethora of attackers ,we have to find team goals, and defend better to compensate. Is impressive when you think about it.
League Title wins gone certain players spring to mind straight away.
We win the Title this season, we will struggle to name one stand out player.
We will remember it more for a team playing collectively.
Hoe this makes sense.
