Or it will be encrypted and it's up to the individual to pay or not rather than being forced by law.The BBC will hopefully be gone in a few years or they start funding themselves.
As long as this happens after the TOTP repeats end that is.

So old fashioned, we have the most rigid TV blackout rules in Europe, maybe the world.
People paying good money for tickets, getting time off work and booking hotels, only for Sky to decide to put it on TV and this causes the date and / or kick off time to be changed, meaning you can't go now.
Only in the UK.
Our American friends will correct me if I’m wrong but I understand in the NFL if a game isn’t sold out something like three days in advance , there is a TV blackout in the whole local area.
That would take the ‘Is the City game sold out?’ debate to a whole new level.

I’m not much up to speed on technological matters but I’m not sure how easy it would be to have regional blackouts in a country as small as ours.
Plus, it would affect Liverpool more if they were blacked out in Ireland, Norway and Germany than across Merseyside.
