To our Balkan friends on here..

I am posting from Canada and there are many Bosnians in USA too so that could explain it as well. Either way, it's nice to see.

Wouldn't it be a cool song to sing for Aguero, at the melody of the famous five notes from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"? You know, this one (couldn't find a better video):

I saw that Yugoslav team in 1991 when they won the Euro 1992 qualifying group before, because of the conflict, they where replaced by Denmark who then went onto win the tournament. A class outfit!

Anybody tell me the make up of that team, as in what of the 'new' Balkan countries the players where from?

The team from, say, the World Cup '90 had players from all six Yugoslav republics, to name some, all great: Pancev (Macedonia), Katanec (Slovenia), Prosinecki, Suker, Jarni, Boksic (Croatia), Stojkovic (Serbia), Susic (Bosnia), Savicevic (Montenegro). Around that time other players from the country were coming into their own: Boban, Kodro, Mijatovic, Jugovic, Mihajlovic, etc etc etc.

Not to forget, a Yugoslav club, Red Star Belgrade, won the Champions League in 1991 (the last European Cup before it became CL) and that team was incredible: Prosinecki (later Barca, Madrid), Mihajlovic (Lazio, Inter), Savicevic (Milan), Stojkovic (Marseille), Jugovic (Juventus), etc.

Do not forget my countryman Pancev he was a vital part of the team...he scored the decisive penalty in the final and was the best scorer in europe :D

No offense mate, but I think that you should stick with your knock-knock jokes.

I'm Bosnian and I've supported City before Dzeko came in and I'm not bandwagoner :), I haven't pick City because City is going to win everything in years to come.

There were 3 phases in building my feelings for City:

1. when UAE guys bought City. I'm Muslim and I am glad to see my fellow Muslims being successful in anything. In that phase it was only thing that was connecting me to City and in that time I was just sympathizing City.

2. When all those so called fans of other big English and European teams coming from countries where football is like 5th sport and hearing about game itself 3 years ago and as such picked United or Barcelona to be "fans" off, starting to talk shit about City - you know those usual retarded cliches about buying trophies, not having history and other crap... Then something we Bosnian call "ters" (it's some combination of spite and hot temperament) hit me hard and I've decided I'm going to stand up in front of them :) and started to want City to win everything possible. Being Bosnian and someone who was born and raised on Mediterranean Sea (to add some southern temperament) , I have bags of "ters" so I certainly won't stop doing it :)

So, in this 2nd phase I was already die hard City supporter.

3. When Dzeko came in. I liked Wolfsburg when he was there (still do like them) but in combination with first 2, that was enough to become City "fan". Fan with quotes as I really think real fans are only you guys from Manchester and UK that live for City all your lifes, travel to away games etc...

Saying all this I can promise 2 things:

I'll be City "fan" even if Dzeko and sheikh go (Dzeko will on some point, hope sheikh won't ever :_) )

I'll never buy City shirt to me or my boy, I would feel as a redneck (Bosnian: papak) to walk through Sarajevo with it on myself or on my son:) And I'll never use "we" when referring to City as I would again feel as "papak" to say we for a team having home thousands miles away.

City fan from Chicao (Bosnian) here. Shilling out money for Fox Soccer, iPhone apps, jerseys and watching every single City game. Are we bandwagon fans? I don't think so. Following Dzeko we got to learn everything about this club and got to love the history and determination as well as the underdog status. We became City fans before FA Cup final when nothing was won and 4th place was still a distant reality.

Another great Bosnian striker named Kodro used to play lights out for Barcelona but I never followed them and always rooted against that team.

On a side note, once City goes deep in CL and perhaps wins the title here soon, get ready for real bandwagon fans from all over the world.
