To our Balkan friends on here..

If memory serves me well we did do a poznan, but usually when stadium official is reading out oposition team names

The oooo ooo edin dzekooo song is actually quite popular here, there is an unofficial initiative on the public forums in my country to use that song instead of our's that is honestly lame lol, we will see in few days at Zenica stadium when we play against belarus if the song will be done, lol i cant imagine edin's face when he hears it.

As to the yugoslav team i don't really know every single name that would play but these would for sure:

Begovic, Vidic, Modric, Pjanic, Dzeko, Ibrahimovic for sure aswell, hmm well thats it cant remember any more, but i can tell you this, if that team existed now we would be a top candidate to win the European cup and World cup there are so many excellent players comming from this part of europe.

To our English/Brit friends,

I'm a Bosnian-Yank so to say, having lived in Boston (Massachusetts) for over 20 years and just like my other Bosnians, I fell for MCFC when Dzeko signed. Before that I didn't really have a fav team per se but I liked Man City largely because Mancini was my fav player in the 90s so yeah, that's that.

I have to hand it to you guys for truly appreciating Edin unlike many other fans! I have grown to love your team and beside that, I've spent endless hours reading about not only the team but also the city, people and the history that surrounds it.

Edin is a pride and joy in our small and troubled homeland. I personally love him for being down to earth and well-composed which is truly something that little kids look up to. Not only did you get a well raised Bosnian but you also signed a great role model for future generations.

As far as your chanting goes, I can assure you that every Bosnian who digs Dzeko feels proud not only because of Edin, but because of the way you have accepted him and the way you continue to praise his actions. It shows that you, the MCFC fans are composed of well rounded and respected individuals and for that, Bosnian fans will love and respect your team for many years to come.

Kudos!

Thank you for these kind words. We continue to praise Dzeko because of his attitude - he is so respectfull of the club and the fans. Even when he didn't score we continued to praise him because we could see that he was trying 110%. If Dzeko is typical of Bosnian people I think Bosnia must be a very good country

I think its brilliant. MCFC has the best fans in England (Up there with Liverpool). As an Eastern European I used to look down on Western European fans until I came across MCFC in 2005. They are really loud and I think you guys are blessed to have such loud, passionate, and understanding fans. I been following MCFC before Dzeko arrived, my hate for United gave me a passion for City.

Wish the best to City, just please take a dump on United this season...
Ahaha, what? You're a dippers fan arent you?

I love the bandwaggoning from the bosnians though, brilliant stuff. I actually canceled my order of the new Dzeko kit because I realised all the bosnians that live in my city would keep cheering at me across the street. It's all good that you support your national hero but, please, stop claiming to be City fans all of a sudden. I bet 100% of the bosnians that have suddenly became supporters (even the ones that have countless replica United shirts and probably cheered for United every time they watched a match) cant even name any of the players we had before the Sheikh took over.

Sorry, rant over.

If Yugoslavia hadn't fallen apart our league would be at the same level as Portugal's with at least one regular place in CL and one for CL qualifiers with occasional CL title contenders. Then you would see the true potential NT squad that was known as European Brasil due to technical style of play and beautiful football. With currently active players the team would look like this.

Stoke's Asmir Begović or Udineses Samir Handanović

Darijo Srna Branislav Ivanović Nemanja Vidić Aleksandar Kolarov (Ćorluka)

Luka Modrić Dejan Stanković

Miloš Krasić Stevan Jovetić (Fiorentina)

Zlatan Ibrahimović Edin Džeko

Benching most of the current important national players for either of the republics :) Anyways thriving with talent :)

And it's unfair to say but I am positive that due to talent we would have had Brasil would never be World Champions in 1994 only if we'd compited :( Particles of that team were Croatian 1998 France bronze side with Serbia and Montenegro under the name of Yugoslavia also competing in that tournament!!!!!

The song is ok but it needs personality. Once he actually makes big impact you'll think of sth torressong like for him :)

I love the fact Dzeko's fellow countrymen are taking a big interest in his progress at City. Watching Dzeko means watching City and if they begin to like City then top notch.

I would prefer a fan/supporter that found us through following a national hero than some spoilt snotty nose 8 year old from Kent who had a rag top last year.

Keep posting our Balkan friends and I have to applaud you on your use of the English language. Truly humbling to someone who's been to Spain 5 times and knows three words of Spanish.

Exactly. I'm proud of having supported City all my life, through some pretty dire times. But I welcome anyone that wants to buy the shirt and cheer for my team. There's no "test" for being allowed to support City.
